Default I finally got that Jeep thing.......

Hi all. Wanted to introduce myself as I plan on spending quite a lot of time on these forums. My name is Roy. I currently am stationed in Germany with the Army. I am picking up my first Jeep in less than a week and could not be happier. It's a black 2012 sport manual hard top with all the little options like 3.73 gears. I have always been a "car guy" owning and modding everything from a 1969 Chevelle to my current car (which I am in the process of selling to pay off the JK) a 400 HP 2005 SRT-4. The only off road worthy vehicle I have owned was a 1979 K5 Blazer that I lifted 4" and swapped a 454 into, so I am really looking forward to seeing what the aftermarket has to offer for JKs as well as just popping the top and disappearing into the woods for an afternoon.

I know my way around a vehicle and hope that I can provide sound mechanical advise when I can. Jeeps on the other hand are a whole new animal and I look forward to getting to know the community better.

Thanks in advance for all the help!

Welcome! Seems like you enjoy some power to your vehicles. Guess we'll be watching your build include a hemi swap very soon

Well, that may have to wait a bit.......... Dumping another $15k-$20k into the JK may not make the wife the happiest person ever. I have looked into it however. HA!

The World of JK aftermarket parts is very extensive, I'm sure you won't have any problems finding what you want/need....there are tons of great inexpensive DIY mods. And as for popping off the top and disappearing into the woods....there's nothing better. Before getting my jeep, I truly didn't understand the jeep thing. Now I do, and I'm sure you will too!!

And you better start a build thread, I'll be the first to subscribe to it.... Sounds like it'll be a good one .

Welcome to the Forum...Cheers!
