New to Greensboro/ Summerfield NC and Jeep
Hey all, just moved from SE Arizona, I've been wheeling with friends with jeeps for a few years in my 89 Trooper II and although that baby never gets left behind on the trails, I'm ready to step up to a new JKU now and just ordered a 2015 manual Rubicon Hard Rock in anvil from the local dealer here in Greensboro, I'm told I should take delivery in about eight weeks. Yes, I'm a noob to the east coast and jeep but not to off roading, I've been a two wheel guy most of my life and have finally excepted that it hurts too much to go a** over elbows at this age and have sold all my two favorite bikes (CRF450 and CBR1000RR) kept the VTX1800, turbo desert buggy, nicely moded 335i and adding this new JKU to the lineup. I'm a member of a few forums and shouldn't act like too much of a noob to forum rules so I'm reading all I can here and getting some great information and opinions, no worries I use the search field prior to asking the same noob questions like what mods should I do lol. I'll be ordering a lift, rims, tires at first to be setting patently in the garage for my new ride that I'm really excited about. I'd love to meet some like minded locals to show us some trails and learn about mud here in our new home in beautiful NC and OMG, these people are the most polite nice people we've ever encountered as a whole community, we're here to stay! I'll post pics of my build as I go.
I'm thinking the suspension I'm going with is the Metal Cloak Game Changer with 6 pack shocks as I want this JKU to have more of a desert buggy/ pre runner feel being able to clip along at a nice pace off road without beating me up too bad and be able to do the slow technical stuff too. Open to any advise anyone may have and look forward to checking out all the back trails around here and would love to earn all 5 trail badges some day.

Welcome to the party... Good news is there is good wheeling just south of you in Uwharrie National Forest. In fact, this weekend in their fall jamboree. Come on down and check it out...

Welcome neighbor! I'm just up the road in Stokesdale. Uwharrie is our closest legal spot. Decent trails but nothing too wild. I'm not much of a mud guy but would be happy to show you around sometime.

Thanks neighbor, I'm with us on the mud thing but hey, I'm in a new area and ready to adapt and overcome. We'll have to meet up and check out some trails as soon as scheduled allow. Can't wait!!!
I just received word from Crown that my order has been shipped on the 6th of Nov from Ohio, should have it this week, only bad part is I'll have to do the deal via remote as I'm away for a minute and the awesome guys at Crown will bring it to the house, I guess I have something to look forward to other than family lol.
