Default Newb to JK Forum and JK's

Name is Paul, will soon be taking delivery of a brand new 2011 Sahara Unlimited, natural green pearlcoat and paint to match hard top. Was supposed to be delivered September 17... now scheduled to be at the dealer on Oct. 26.

This is actually a vehicle for my wife, so it's got pretty much every bell and whistle you can get besides any of the chrome packages.

I'm excited because right out of the box she wants at least a 2.5 inch lift and bigger tires... WOOHOO! This kind of thing always reminds me of why I love my wife so much!

Still debating on where/what/when/how those initial mods will happen. I got an estimate from the dealer and they want $900 for a 2" puck lift!! I about passed out given that you can order the parts for anywhere from $150 to $400 depending on what you get and what kind of deal you can get.

We are only going to go up to 33" tires, leaning toward 275/70/18's on the stock rims. Likely will need spacers at a minimum and then the lift to follow. Leaning heavily toward the BFGoodrich TA KO All Terrains based on what I've read.

As I mentioned, this is for my wife, so it won't be an off-road rock crawling machine by any stretch of the imagination, though I do have her excited about doing some trail rides with a local club. This will be a daily driver that will need to fit in her parking garage and our personal garage. We have about 4.5 inches to work with from stock height at my best estimate. So adding 1" tire size and a 2.5" budget boost should be about right.

Mods after that will be to add a Lockpick to the Nav/stereo system and a rearview camera. Her current vehicle has this as well as mine and frankly once you have the rearview camera, it's difficult to live without it!!

That's it in a nut shell... been trying to research and learn all I can. Looking forward to learning more from this forum!! It's gonna get expensive I can tell. A buddy of mine that owns a Wrangler told me all about what JEEP stands for... something along the lines of "Just Empty Every Pocket". I can relate as I am a motorcycle guy at heart and fully realize how much money can be spent on these beasts! My buddy was kind enough to drop off a 4WD and a 4WheelParts catalog as soon as he found out we ordered the Jeep.

So far the Rough Country BB lift is what I am leaning toward.

Thanks for the welcome all!

One other addition I need to make is a hoist in my garage for the hardtop... Somewhere to store it and make it easier to get on and off.
