Wheels and tire advice
Hello everyone newbie here. I have a 2013 JKUS and looking to get new wheels and tires. The Jeep is stock and I don’t want to add spacers , could possibly get a lift but trying to avoid that at least for now. The wheels I’ve been looking at come in 2 different offsets a -12 with 4.5 bs and a 1mm with 5 bs I want a more aggressive look but don’t want tires too far outside fenders trying to figure about how each would sit and if one would be better as far as having any rubbing issues. Was also looking for help with tire size also was thinking 285/70/17. Was looking for tire advice this is a daily driver and no off-roading but do the want the more aggressive look but still a good tire for the road without too much noise . I’ve been looking hard at MT Baja boss at and Falken Wildpeak

Welcome to JK Forum. Good group, knowledgeable and friendly. So many choices for your question IMO Back Space in the 4.5" range will put the tires out and with the size you are considering I don't think rubbing will be an issue. Wheel width 8" 8.5" 9" all are good. I lean toward Falkens .. these are a standard OEM tire on many new JLs and JTs. I ran AT3s good on road and felt good on Wet roads; did ok off road too. MTs are very aggressive for DDs and noisy too; IMO stick with ALL Terrain tires.
Thanks. The other tire I’ve been looking hard at is the Mickey Thompson Baja Boss AT. How far out past the fender do you think? I was thinking the -12 offset with the 4.5 backspacing but discount tire rep thought the 1 mm and 5 backspacing might be less likely to have rubbing issues. I
Take a look at 285/70/17 Toyo AT3 in a C rating not E. They are ok offroad, they are quiet on the road, the C is softer riding and mine are smooth. I run 285/75/17 for a true 33.9"+ height and C rated so more softer rubber on the sidewalls.
Welcome... I think 4.5bs would be good with that size tire. Maybe your tire shop knows something I don't... but I would think even with a sport model that you would be good with those. But there are many different varibles to the puzzle... they sold different springs on hardtops and softops and different trim levels and towing packages had slightly different springs. So... it is possible that your jeep sits 1/2 inch lower as configured... which comesinto the geometry of tires rubbing in the fenders under flex. I guess your can ask the tire shop to test them? You could find a set of rubicon springs and swap them in if you are rubbing.
You're not going to benefit one bit from Rubicon springs, unless you are just aching to waste a couple hours fiddling around under the jeep. The one time you could see a small difference was if you put 4dr rubi springs under a 2dr due to the weight difference. For your 4dr there just isn't going to be any difference between the various springs IMO. You'd probably be better off just doing a 3/4" puck on top of your existing springs.
