DO NOT SETTLE FOR 9K!!!!!! I have a friend who work for a insurance company. I will not say their name or position but they say that they will try to lowball you at first. Fight it!!! Just out of curiosity who is your agent? The agent does not decide what you will get from the insurance company but if it is a good agent they will at least go to bat for you.

 

True that - I had the same thing happen with my 04 Wrangler- I talked them up 4K when all was said & done. Had to dig out my receipts for the lift & tires though.

 

Wow what a terrible experience!! I experienced a hit and run with my kids in the car (not the JK) on a wet, windy and dangerous road. Bastards took off and left us there, vulnerable to other cars careening around a blind corner.

Karma is real and it'll come to those who screwed you. Bastards. F$ck 'em.

 

That totally sucks, sorry to hear about your loss. I agree you need to fight the insurance company a little. An extra grand or two is nothing to them, but a lot to you. The worst thing that could happen is they say no.

Definately worth fighting for. Even if it wasn't covered they are going to make more off of it when they sell it or they wouldn't be offering you what they are. They aren't losing anything, they are making money off of you.
