Nice pics Teraflex. The Cascades are definately on my list to go to.
I'm on leave for a week and a half but I'm getting my rock rails put on Monday and need to try and fix the leaks in my tires. If you guys go post up when/where and I'll see if I can't get my rig ready.

Drove up to Cascade on Sat. Rented a spot at an rv park for at least a week so we will be there from the 23rd to the 30th of aug.

Ranger station was closed on Sat. so could not find out if we need an off-road permit for the Jeep? We have one for Oregon, anybody know, if needed, will that work?

Wife and I would enjoy company on any rides, more fun when not alone!

You do not need a permit for anywhere in Idaho. But you do need to pick up a map. One Major rule in Idaho is if the trail is not on the Forestry Service map then you should NOT be on it and consider it closed.

Got map at ranger station about ten minutes after setting up the RV at the park.
Small fire just north of Cascade. 3 choppers putting it out. Transformer blew up and started it.

Default Cascade

We ended up signing up for a month at the Rv park in Cascade. So far we have had 4 rides in the Gold fork rd. area and cut over the trails to come out past eagle Nest to Warm Lake road. Saw a deer and a good size black bear. Could not get the camera out fast enough for the bear.
whpony where is pic #58 taken at , (of the stream from your pic,s of yellow pine)?
What road #?

We found a few spots to have a fire and hot dog roast near a stream at Gold Fork Trail Head, anybody know of a more secluded stream area to have a fire and sit and look at the stars? We carry extra water to put out campfires but streams are nice for relaxing and for putting out fires real well!
We will be here for a few more weeks if anybody wants to hook up, We leave on Sept 23rd.

Ahhh that was a fun creek to cross. Unfortunately that trail is now closed to the public. Literally one day after our big Yellowpine event the trail was officially closed. This was the trail that led to Cinnabar. Now the only way to access Cinnabar it by a narrow scary switchback trail north of Cinnanar that is accessed off of Thunder Mountain Rd..

Do you have any plans on the 11th or 12th of Sept? I can rally up a group of Jeeps and we can meet somewhere and go trail riding.

Fred and Ellen, I plan on being in Moab in the early part of October, possibly for only a day or two. Would love to take a trail or two with you if you will be leaving our lovely state in time!

We will be there from the first to the 31st. at Moab Rim Camppark, it is just south of town on the main drag (rt. 191) I think. My Cell # is 216-401-4206, call when you are near.
We spent 3 weeks there last Oct. and had fun. We are not experts on the area but have founds some nice rides. Also have the Charles A. Wells guide to Moab that lists all the trails so don't buy one! Also have a Lowrance GPS system so we can hit all the turns at the right place.
Last year the weather was nice enough to have the front half of the top off for most of the rides. 65 to 75 degrees, so outside lunches were great were also.
Looking forward to seeing you and maybe more folks there in Oct. The more folks the better
