Default Did the Evans poker run in my 4-door Rubi this weekend

Heard it was tight and expect some body damage and that is true

Actually I almost made it through unscathed but at the top of the last trail of the run I slipped off a rock and popped the rear passenger fender off and put a little dent in the corner panel. Nothing some new plastic clips and a glue dent puller can't fix!

Was very fun, I was running with a bunch of samuria's so they fit through everything really easy. With the 4 door it was technical in the extreme, and I can't say enough about my smitty rock rails those things earn their keep every damn time I go out it seems, but they were on overtime saturday lol.

All and all a fun trip, but I think that's the last time my 4 door will be there. From what I was told we weren't on the hard trails.

I'll post some more pictures once my group posts them, here's one of the carnage though. On the bright side, I won a butt load at the raffle! $250 gas card, jerry can tool box (that I traded with another guy in our group the black Hi-Lift he won), $50 gift card at 4wheel parts, and a Smittybuilt heavy duty compressor. That kept the wife much happier about the whole trip lol

That picture makes it look worse than it is (by the way it reflects). The dent is pretty mild and other than possibly along the top seam should pull out back to normal. Just need to find a glue puller or buy one since there's no access to that panel without drilling on the inside.

Damn. I've been to Evans a few times in my 4 door and haven't even gotten so much as a scratch. Are you sure you were on a trail?maybe the sami's you were with were playing a cruel joke on you and then felt bad later and gave you some free shit to make up for it?

Just kidding. I've gotten dents at Evans before but it was due to snow and sliding into a tree. Evans can be a little tight but you have to go with some jks that know which trails not to go down with a 4 door jk. It can be run without Body damage.

First off.... seriously bummed I missed a poker run at Evans. Second, sorry 'bout your damage. Third, do you know what trails you ran and which one you got the damage on?

It requires finesse to hit 520 or 519 with a JKU. Been there done that. The tight switchbacks are 2 point turns. The JKs made it look easy. 311 is not bad. 196 and 197 are tough on any rig.

I think it was top of 311, not positive. Tight off camber steep switchback around a stump, and there's good size rocks on the trail. Wouldn't have been a problem going up and could have made it going down, just got off by an inch or so and slipped off the rock I was on.

Really looking at the or-fab or poison spyder crusher corners now though

That last left hand corner on upper 311 can be a doozy. Normally I just use the rock rail to turn me and just slide around the top of the rock.

I've spent a LOT of hours shopping corners, no one replicates the JK curves except PSC. There is no other good choice, IMHO!

yet..... did you know that our of all of them PSC are the only ones that aren't one piece, they're seamed together around the back corner which is why they curve so perfectly and I've seen these fail in that manner where the weld has ripped causing more damage than protection to the Jeep. Go with OR fab or EVO. My evo corners are 3/16ths thick and PSC's are 1/8th thick, yes I'll give you the fact that the PSC will probably fit better but I managed to only have a slight gap on the passenger side of my EVO corners while the drivers side fit 100% perfectly. I'd take the thicker armor any day over something that was thin and pretty...because in the end it'll do what it's supposed to.
