Hey RD! Glad to hear from you... You gotta send us some pics, man! 35's, unlifted?? Rearview camera?

And I was all giddy that I got my fire extinguishers installed! Looking forward to seeing you there! As Rupedog said: You'll be the most mod'ed JK out there!

Really looking forward to seeing your rig!

Well this sucks. I have to have the back operation on June 6th, so I'm turning the whole trip over to '07JK fan. There is no way I can make it. So contact him and let him know if you are going or not. Please have a great time without me, I know that you will miss me and it will be sad for you. But buck up and have a great time. Drink a couple of beers for me and take pictures. Now that I'm finished pulling your chain and talking trash. Reallly have a great time. It is a great area to learn your JK and meet other JK owners. If you have any question you can still contact me by phone or over the computer. We'll plan another trip after I'm all healed up. I look forward to meeting all of you in the future. Those that I have talked to on the phone, have been very pleasant and fun to talk with I wish there was a way for me to go, but without a motorhome there would be no way. Talk to you later David

Hey all,

As Rupedog mentioned, he won't be able to make it this go around due to a much-needed back surgery. I'm fortunate to live pretty close to Mr. & Mrs. Rupedog and got the chance to meet them today. Great folks! They'll definitely be missed on the trip! Rupe is, well... a character to say the very least! Hah!

Seriously, both Mr. and Mrs. Rupedog were fun to chat with today. We met somewhere sort of halfway (okay a 3rd for me, 2/3 for them... next time we meet closer to you!) and ended up talking for 5 hours!

Rupe can tell a good story and would be a riot at a campfire. Mrs. Rupe is exactly as Rupe describes, super sweet and a pleasure to talk to! Really enjoyed meeting you guys!

About the trip: I, for one, am still planning on going and already have the time off at work. Rupedog loaned me some maps of the area and I have a pretty good sense of where we're going. So far, I know that 1BADJK is also planning on going and he knows the area very well. Last I heard Rugbyduck was still looking to go.

Sooo... What I'm curious to know is who else is still interested in and/or planning on going. Maybe just indicate one of the following:

1) Can't make it this time.
2) Interested, but not sure if I can go.
3) Planning on going, but things could change w/ short notice.
4) Definitely going to be there, wouldn't miss it for anything!

Anyway, hope to see you there!

Bummer you can't make it Rupe...the boys and I are planning to come. what are the driving plans for Friday? The 22nd is the first day for Summer rugby for the kids...guess who the coach is. I'd be leaving Beaverton about 7pm so we'd most likely get there about "dark:30". Will that pose a problem?

Default NW Folks

I guess I should visit more often and then pay attention. I'm in Vancouver WA. and very happy to see the forum expand to regions. I saw the post last night about the NW run to Fort Rock. I'd love to make this run and I will if my work life permits. I would like to meet all of you and a trail is a perfect place to do it.

Please count me in as,

3) Planning on going, but things could change w/ short notice.

Thanks,

Jim

Hi RD (or should I say "Coach"?),

I have Friday off and plan on getting started early... well earlier anyway. Probably get the Jeep packed up in the morning and head down via the Santiam Pass. Hopefully will have a few PDX-area folks to caravan with or meet up along the way. Likely will go at a leisurely pace and scout things out a bit on arrival.

If you're going leave a little late, we should plan a meeting spot. I'm still getting acquainted with the area (or maps of it anyway). Rupe showed me what looks to be a good spot to camp on that map. I think it would be a good spot to meet if you roll in late and we'll keep a campfire going for you, but can drive out to meet you at a more easily found location if needed.

I'll PM you with my contact info so we can iron things out.

Hi Jim!

Ya, I wondered if organizing The Staging Area would result in our trip thread getting missed, but you did find us. Hopefully others will too!

I'll add you to the "likely" list and hope to see you there. I just posted a response to Rugbyduck with some of the plans. I don't have any real schedule for Friday 6/22 other than to leave sometime after 8am and before noon for the trip down. If you'd like to meet up and make the run down, let me know...

If this helps to entice you: picture a few JK's in a line, running down the freeway to "destinations unknown".

I'll PM you my contact info.

I 2 am still planning on making the trip and being one of the early friday drivers. This of course pending on work staying status quo? I get excited seeing one JK drive by or parked somewhere, much less a line of them heading off to the wilder. Anticipating a stellar trip.

Hey EIGHTball/Chris!

Great to hear from you and hope you can make it. I'm planning on leaving Hillsboro round 9-11am... possibly earlier as excitement takes over... Perhaps we could meet up somewhere near Tualatin or somewhere south of there? TradewindJK will hopefully be coming down from the 'Couv... Maybe we could all meet somewhere central. I'm open to suggestion.

Will count you in at 3 status!
