It was a blast! I only took a couple of pictures, though.

what a great day Saturday was; full, and i mean FULL of wheeling. waking up early to go do the Lower Clover Springs trail. Most of the group wasn't ready early, so JamSession(John) and Gary started to head down. Tiltz (Dustin) found us as we were heading out of camp. This trail is 12 miles on 1600 and 1605 off of the 410 down just a bit further south of the 1701. Lower Clover is rated Most Difficult, and it was well worth the trip down. lots of narrow trees early, and some excellent hill climbs. one point was so narrow, that we needed a creative trail line for the 4 door, and 4-5 point turns for the 2 doors. Ate lunch on the trail on a nice sunny spot and finished the trail back to 1600. found an offshoot on the 1600 with a huge hill climb where Dustin’s second pic was taken.

made our way back to the 410 and up 1701 for the back way to Moon Rocks. on 4W695, Gary T heard some exhaust noise from the front of my jeep, followed shortly by a code being thrown and my check engine light coming on. not sure what to make of it after checking fluids, we carried on to the rocks. Made it up to Moon Rocks and immediately ran into Mark, Jeff, Greg, Tim, Dave; how lucky is that. Mark listened to my sound and thought it was a cracked manifold gasket and nothing to worry about for the short term. We played around the rocks doing a nice V channel, then down the steps, and back up some fun lines. The Moon Rocks were awesome!. we all headed over to the Funny Rocks to do a quick run over there too. Gary, John, Dustin, Dave, Tim and Greg found some cool lines. the 2 doors had a tough time on a rock ledge. the 4 doors' wheel base lets it get up on these tall ledges a little better. From there we headed back down the 4W685 to the Lilly pond trail 4W617, then picked up the fireroad at Lily Pond back to camp

After Dinner, a few of us decided on a night run. John, Gary, James in ZJ, an XJ and a Comanche. we did Kaner 4W676 all the way to Manastash Ridge Trail 4W306. This was awesome at night. The Aardvark Hill was magnificent lit up and the shadows from those massive roots. During this run, the sky opened up and gave us quite a drenching. The nearly constant lightning lighting up the sky was super cool. The upper part of Kaner has this very rock terrain reminding me of parts of the Rubicon. After getting to the top and taking some night shots, we headed back down to Lily Pond and the fireroad back to camp. This took 4 hours getting us back to camp at 2:30am!

In the morning we found my exhaust noise was significantly worse. looking under the jeep found the exhaust completely disconnected from the manifold collector - both bolts GONE!. lucky had a bolt that I got to work with some washers. to hold this together for the drive home.

What an awesome weekend, and thanks for the great memories!

Default Lottsa pics

Here's some pics to go with Gary's report. I was fortunate to have my daughter Sara along who ran trail quite a bit to get the pics.
We started off Fri night on a run up Raven's Roost with Gary and James.

Couple shots of camp the next morning

Clover Springs

At lunch we found this in Dustin's 012, probably from the tight 4point turn that Gary mentioned

Next three are from the side run up the ridge off of 1600 on the way out.

Moon rocks

Gary playing in the rocks

My turn

Then on to funny rocks

This is Dustin trying the ledge that Gary made it up but the 2doors didn't.

I don't have any pics of the night run cause Sara stayed in camp but it was a blast and we had just enough rain to keep the dust down.
The rocks at the top of Kaner were surreal when lit up by lightening.

Thanks to Gary H for leading us around all weekend and Gary T for spotting in several tight spots and the rocks.

Nice pic's jamsession! and nice report Gary! It was good to see everyone that came up. I'm sorry I couldn't make any of the runs with you guys. Def. fun playing on the rocks with you all though. Here's a few pics I took.
Thursday night sunset on top of Raven Roost.

Friday's run that ended with lots of winching and towing. First issue was a broken track bar bracket that we used ratchet straps to center the rear end for the rest of the day.

Towing an XJ off the trail that lost a cam position sensor.

Winching it up Lilly pond hill.

Close up of our makeshift trackbars and the backstraps to hold it in place while we winched the dead XJ.

Saturday morning on the run upto the rocks.

It's a race!

Lots of rigs at funny rocks.

Over at moon rocks.

Back at funny rocks.

JK's everywhere.

And I saved the best for last. Going vertical!!!!!!!!

Default Great Pics

These are great! We didnt get over to Moon Rocks or Funny Rocks. Unfortunately our group ran into a few locked gates. We had only dropped in for the day and had to make it back to Snohomish. The trails were fun though and we met up with some great people. A quick video for the trip Naches Pass Trail Run - YouTube

Sorry to have missed you and showed you the way to "The Rocks"; there are several that are open. Maybe another time. Thanks for the Wagon Trail pics, I need to do that trail again as the meadows on top are so superb
