I could not agree more. A CB in your rig is the cheapest safety device you can install. It should be on the top of the upgrade list.

What's the JK Tweak list look like???

Unfortunately, I have to work Monday as well.
But I will get garage and JK tweaking time this weekend.
A CB is on my "to do" list. I want to get a CB that is compatible with my Motorola hand held walkie talkies. Any recommendations?

If your walkies are FRS, you won't find much in the CB world to talk to them. Just keep one of the walkies with you.

Where did you mount the receiver piece? I bought the Cobra 75, as well. I picked up a hood mount bracket - the owner at D&R said not to mount the antenna on the tailgate, but rather the driver side hood and run all 18' of coaxial cable.

x2, That's why I mounted my antenna up front (drivers side) as well. I had D&R help me install my Uniden 510 over head (above the rear view mirror).

I bought the package from "David" at Northridge. Mounted 3' firestick antenna on spare tire bracket and ran coax to glove box where I used velcro to attach it. I ran the power wire straight to the battery and grounded unit to the ground point in the passenger foot well. I ran a ground from the antenna mount to the Woofer speaker unit mounting bolt. What I love about this forum is the information available. My install is not unique an here is one quite simular. I like the fact that I can easily remove the antenna and it is semi protected. Maybe not the best for transmission but in the woods with a group it should work.

Good luck on your install
