Yakima/Ellensburg Jeeps Where You At?
Gary H and I had a blast running Liberty East last Sunday. We departed Redmond at 8:15am and arrived at the Williams Creek staging area at 10:30am after topping off in Cle Elum.
The weather was sunny with temps of between 55-60 and was breezy on the ridge lines but not on most of the trails. We ran the following trails:
4W321 Pit Overlook
4W319 Crystal Mountain Trail
4W329 Tuff Ridge Trail
4W318 First Creek Trail
4W320 Hidden Gulch Trail
4W319.1 Upper Crystal Mountain Trail
Conditions were excellent with a little mud but not much. We didn't realize 4W319.1 was closed and made it most of the way before encountering quite a bit of snow above 5300' and after twice having to winch Gary H out of some slight off camber slips we turned back at 5:30pm and reached the staging area at 6:30pm. We ran between 25 and 30 miles of offroad trails.
We had dinner in Cle Elum and arrived back in Redmond at 9:55pm. Long day but way fun. Most of the wheeling was easy to moderate with only the 4W319.1 being on the more difficult side.
Liberty West looked to be clear of snow from our vantage pont.
I will post some pics when I can get them uploaded. For some reason I seem to have problems with uploads.
