I will be doing a couple of sprints this season (in Amarillo), one half ironman (Buffalo Springs in Lubbock), and one full ironman (Redman in OKC). I have only done teams so far (bike portion) for sprints and a half iron. I really want to compete on my own for once, and I am going to give it my all this year.

I really wanting to improve my distances. Swim, not too bad. Bike, oh yeah. Run, not so much. I have to be one of the worse distance runners of all time.

I am in the same boat. I think I can be competetive in the swim. And if not, I am pretty confident in my bike making up for it. It's the run that will kill me. I can't stand running. But I want to be able to say that I did it, so I will put up with the run.

just saw this. i like all distances except sprints. last year i did orlando 70.3, Eagleman, Atomic Man 70.3, Ironman Florida, a few local olympics.

so far on the list this year i have Branson 70.3 and Lawrence 70.3, depending on how they go i might sign up for Miami as a late season 70.3?

if any of you guys are planning on any of these let me know.

I used to do them as a kid and teenager. I am turning 30 in June and will do one on my birthday. I plan to make it a more regular practice.

One of my goals is to do a full ironman soon. I've run the Chicago Marathon and done some sprint distance triathalons, but need to pick an ironman and train like hell.

What training program do you guys follow?

I train with a team here. Highly recommend it. It is way too easy to bail out or not really push yourself without other people there pushing you.

I did Ironman CdA last year. No tris planned for this year however. My training is focused on a 50 mile ultra-marathon in June.
