Bike ride in Glacier Park
We made it up the Going to the Sun about 10 miles and then had to turn around. The snow was accross the road and the road was in bad shape. Glacier Park is beautiful this time of year.

This was a little scary to walk accross in road shoes with smooth bottoms and clips.

The road was in rough shape but no flats. I couldnt believe it.

Looks awesome, can't wait to get in there soon myself. We got a lot of snow this year, but this weekends temps should be melting it off quick. I take it you went in on the West Glacier side. We were at Apgar last weekend and the road wasn't quite open to Avalanche yet. Can't wait to get up there
Its about 30-40 miles from my house. I ride the Going to the Sun road about 1-2 times every couple weeks when its open.
The road is closed to cars at Avalanche Creek but you can bike or hike to the top on the weekend. During the week the road is close at the Loop since they are working on the road.
Yes, I went in from the West side. I would love to go in from the East side but its a long drive around the park.
My buddy took the pics. He has a SWEET camera.

I see Heavens Peak in the backround of the 1st pic. We summited that last year, what a trip. August 18th and it was 75 degrees at the start and snowing at the top. We camped near the summit and woke up on the 19th to 8 inches of snow and 60 degrees..crazy. Made the decent REAL fun
I have to agree, IMO, you can keep Yellowstone, Glacier is second to none. My second choice goes to Crater Lake NP. I'm originally from Southern Oregon, (moved away 15 years ago) so I'm kind of partial I guess
