I used a Meade ETX90 (f/13.8 and 1250mm) telescope with a Canon 40D attached for Prime Focus. Great telescope for the price...

 

That was a GREAT moon pic! I assume you have a T-adapter for the camera and scope. I don't have one for my scope yet but I will soon. All I can do is afocal photography through the eyepiece.

well, its not much, but i took this picture last night when it was clear outside. I just aimed the camera at the first clear section of sky and had the camera do it's best.

sadly, this is only 60sec @ F2.8 which is the best my camera can do as far as long exposure.

 

I took this with a Canon S3is, holding it through the telescope viewfinder. I obviously need a mount.
I just got a new Canon 550D and I already have a 6" Dobsonian Orion XT6... do I need a motorized mount to take longer exposures?

I went out to Joshua Tree National Park last night because of the remoteness and for the meteor shower. I have a remote programmable release and I set it up for 10 minute exposures for 20 shots.

I caught a few meteors but not like I wanted. I haven't edited the shots yet but when I do I will post them here.

 

I am wanting to get into this but I am reading alot before I purchase a telescope. I have a Nikon D5000 just trying to be well educated before I get the scope.
