I haven't gotten any new lenses for my 420 yet. There isn't a decent photo supply shop here in Shreveport. the only one I have is 14-42mm f5 (maybe f6). It is a good all-purpose lens but I would really like something with a longer focal length. I see you are in DFW. Do you have a camera shop there that carries the 4/3 lenses for our cameras?

 

Here are a few of mine. Just started using the Celestron Neximage ccd capture device. The smaller one is Jupiter and four of its moons.

 

I'm into photography and I didn't take this(Peter Lik) but I think it is amazing. I wish I had something capable of this.

 

That is two photographs combined. The one with the stars was done with a long exposure while the mount was tracking the earths movement to keep the stars from becoming elongated probably using clock drive. The other is a nice silouett. Very nice combination indeed.

This is a sample of long exposure when alignment with north celestial pole was not exact. This is a shot of some star clusters below the big W in the northern sky, cassiopia. Stacked several images to bring out the dimmer stars.

 

Here's a bit of night sky photography in Arizona. A year later there would have been a JK in the picture.

 

Keep 'em coming guys! The wife and I are taking the kids out to the woods in about 2 weeks. I'll have more to post after that weekend for sure provided it doesn't rain on us.

 

I love looks at the stars. I currently have a small mead telescope. Im hoping I get a bigger one for christmas. I am trying to git my daughter into it.

These pics are awesome. I just finished my webcam astrocam hack and I can't get anything to get into focus. I was debating getting the neximage if my DIY astrocam didn't work. I think I just made up my mind after seeing your pictures. Were they taken with your 80mm? Did you need to use a filter?

 

They were with the little 60mm tasco that is f4. I just got the 80mm from the post office yesterday and it was cloudy last night. Looking good for some stargazing tonight though so I will take a few with the 80. I tried using webcam and like you said it doesn't want to come into sharp focus. I saw something on the net that is probably happening, the camera is sensitive to infrared and that is making it look funny. Need to get infrared filter to make it work.
I guess the neximage has the filter in front of the imager making it work much better. I will post some up tonight if I have good luck with the scope and the clouds.
