Default Prep work for welding in Evo gussets?

Ok so I'm getting ready to make a Northridge purchase for the Evo LCA skids and C gussets and I got to thinking. (I know bad idea).

Can you weld the gussets and skids on with the axle on the Jeep? Does anything need to be removed? I'll be doing the welding either at my work or at a friends house and don't want to dissassemble the axle. I know it would have to be on Jack stands and my friend would have to be lying on the ground.

Besides taking off the tires (for access purposes) what else "needs" to be removed?

gussets can be welded on with axle on vehicle, fully assembled.....HOWEVER, pay particular attention to your ball joints...they have nylon bushings inside 'em that will melt if you go balls to the wall when welding...so, have a bucket of water and plenty of rags to soak down those ends between the short stints of stitch welding....switch between driver side and passenger side to spread cooling time out...take your time with plenty of cooling breaks and you should be fine

I'm sure you know this, but be sure to disconnect your battery too. Vehicles these days run so much on computers it's not even funny.

I would not trust a 110v welded to weld these. You would be wasting your time.

Be sure to heat up the axle housing a bit so that the welds hold. Alot of people overlook this step but it's important since the axle housing is a cast piece and the EVO gussets are metal. I don't know all the technical terms but I know we heated mine up so the welds would adhere better.

the spring sits on the upper gusset yes, causes no noise or problems.

I would ask your buddy who builds cages to come over and do it right, it would be a pain taking them off and doing it again. I am not a welder my buddy is and he didnt want to do it with his 110, we used my work shop and there new welders.
