Default Anyone wish they waited for the 2012 3.6?

I was at the dealers today getting my oil changed in my 2011 wrangler sport. Thought i would check out the 2012's new engine. A sales man walked over to me and was telling me that the 3.6 had 80 more horse power then my 3.8 and its a lot faster, better gas mileage, and faster take off!!? I asked him if i should of waited and bought the 2012 and he said YES! I don't think he would have told me that 8 months ago. Still glad i got it when we did. Traded in a minivan for it Anybody else wish they had waited?!

No way man.. I just don't live looking backwards like that. One more day, month whatever waiting, not being able to roll w/o doors? I have a long term plan for my JK and hope to someday do the Hemi conversion (that's more than 80hp). Love what you got

Man... I sell a rediculous amount of cars to people that are just in for service and wonder into the show room and start asking questions. He was just going with a pretty standard sales tactic to make you feel like your jeep was inferior to what you "could" have had.

As long as your happy with what you got i wouldnt think twice!

Dont regret my 2011 at all. I knew the 2012 was going to have the pentastar before I even walked into the dealership. The way I look at it, I saved a few grand a got a few extra weeks of Jeeping!

x2! I think I'm one of the few who doesn't hate the 3.8L. It is what it is and I knew that when I bought it. I traded a 2009 Ram w/ 392hp? The Jeep wasn't even going to come close to that but the Ram looked funny w/ the doors off.

Buying a car is a lot like buying a computer; they are upgraded every few years. You should never look back. Would I have liked the nicer interior? Yes. Would I like 80 more horsepower? Yes.
But, it just means I would have lost out on meeting some great peeps and going to beautiful places for the last two years if I would have kept my Explorer.
