Pentastar Break-In Difference!
WOW! There is a very big difference after the breakin period of the Pentastar.
For those who test drove the 2012 early and couldn't tell the difference in the lower speeds, you have to go test drive one that is broken -in. Before the break-in period.. i thought most people got it on the dot about not feeling much difference at the lower speed but now is a whole different beast. I'm very close to 1K now on my odomenter and somehow it has more kick to it. In addition, it is MUCH smoother and this baby just goes with little effort. You can really feel the 40% extra power.
Is anyone else experiencing the same on their Pentastar??

I agree totally. I am nearing 1K miles too and the thing just gets better. My fuel mileage has been improving too. Liking the 17.7 avg mpg over the 14 I was getting with my 07. Have new tires on the way so I will see what 295/75R17's do to it.

Also it takes around 2500 miles to break in an engine... Just saying. You dont have to try an justify the 3.6 (its an ok engine) just not what most of the community would of liked.

Wow! With another 100 or so miles you'll be able to go mach1 at 75mpgs. This penstar is amazing!!! Not in the least.....

Now to the topic at hand, yes you will see a noticeable performance increase as you near 1000 miles. The components that are most susceptible to damage during break in are the transmission and especially the differentials, not the motor. I can see the engineers retarding throttle response during this time so that the differential gets power in a smooth manner. There are a few good threads on this at the Challenger forums, the got a Chrysler engineer to get on there and explain a bit.

Yes, the motor feels substantially better with 1000 miles on it. I've also noticed my fuel mileage creep up another MPG. I'm extremely satisfied with my Wrangler, especially with the new interior and the Pentastar motor. I'm very glad I didn't buy a 2010 back when I first started shopping for one.

Don't need to hate. i'm just telling it as it is. Didnt know there are haters up in this forum here.
Do we really have to hold back on 2012 posts on this forum so others won't get offended?
