I know all that I have said is completely invalidated by this purchase but I just bought the Banks Stinger system. It comes with the Intake and Exhaust. The price was great direct from Banks.

I would love if their claimed performance gains are true. They claim +60HP ad +70 Torgue. Ill have fun testing it out.

Has anyone ordered this setup for their 2012? THoughts?

 

I am also curious about this Banks exhaust. Only I'm looking at the cat back single tail pipe. Do you know if it's a good set up, not too loud and horse power gains?

 

I'm also curious, I do know it made a HUGE differance on my TJ 4.0 but that won't help here

 

All I know is from their website. They have a video on there and it doesnt sound too loud at idle or WOT. Ill let you know my thoughts after its installed. Their HP and Torgue claims are crazy.

 

Thank you powrsurg. I'm not going with the cai cause I'll be running the K&N filter and snorkel. Just the cat back.

 

It would be nice to get 60hp out of bolt ons, but short of forced induction, it's not going to happen on these motors. I would be surprised if you saw 20 HP on a dyno. Banks makes good stuff, especially for diesels, but unfortunately these motors are already close to their maximum output from the factory

 

I got the Stinger kit today. It came in two boxes. I rushed and put in the CAI. Here is what I notice. If you drive the rig with a light foot, you hear nothing different. If you gun through the gears you hear a cool Woooop sound midway through the gears powerband. Did it give me more power? WHo knows.

I install the Exhaust on Saturday and will write back when that done.

PS - Im pissed that I didnt get my jeep dyno tested before the mod. Does anyone have a 2012 rubicon on 35s, stock who wants to get their rig dynod? I will dyno my jeep after the exhaust and CAI break in. Lets compare results!

I NEED to know what the result will be. If all I get is a cooler sounding truck, ill be happy. I do hope to get some power out of this.
