Teraflex 2.5" BB Installation Help Please
Help! I've had quite the day trying to install the Teraflex 2.5" BB Installation on my '08 X Unlimited. Its still not together and I even broke the studs on top of both the front shocks!
Below are my real issues. I attached pics of how I currently have it set up (which I think is correct).
I've been reading the project-jk write-up (http://project-jk.com/jeep-jk-write-...ation-write-up) and following the included Teraflex instructions (http://www.teraflex.biz/category/tec...-instructions/) but they are slightly different in photos for the rear sway bar link (step 41.).
1. The Teraflex instructions show the rear sway bar link on the inboard side (closer to the shock) of the mount. The project-jk write-up shows it on the outboard side. It seems that the new sway bar link ends are larger in diameter and would prevent me from installing them on the inboard side. Plus wouldn't they hit the shocks? Which is the correct placement?
2. The rear brake line extension brackets. The bend is supposed to be installed on the inboard side correct? The passenger side does makes the brake line bind a little bit. I'm not sure I'm comfortable trying to bend the brake lines. Any suggestions here?
3. If I need to make steering adjustments (step 55.) do I do this with the jeep on the ground or does it need to be on jack stands somewhere?
4. One more! Can the front sway bar links be reconnected with the jeep on the ground?

Try these, these are the write ups I used to help with mine.

Mine worked with the install on the inside as suggested by the directions with no problems to date. Also, check this thread too https://www.jk-forum.com/forums/showthread.php?t=30392 I had also sent a few PM's to JulietKilo for advise as well as Joe Thompson (Teraflex rep on the site here)
3. If I need to make steering adjustments (step 55.) do I do this with the jeep on the ground or does it need to be on jack stands somewhere?
This is a trial and error thing... Adjust and test, adjust and test, adjust some more and test... Eventually you will get it set, and can be completed on the ground
4. One more! Can the front sway bar links be reconnected with the jeep on the ground?
That is how i did mine
One other thing I will note... I had an issue when installing my stock wheels with the location of the bolt at the top of the rear sway bar. It rubbed on one side... Quick flop of the bolt and was good to go until my wheels and tires arrived.

You have good answers to your questions so I won't repeat them.
On the question about the front swaybar:
I have found that reconnecting the front swaybar is made easier using a very large screwdriver to lift or push down to align the holes. I will try to get a pic of this so you can see what I'm talking about. It helps to have the Jeep on level ground when trying to reconnect. Anytime you go offroad your front swaybar should be disconnected to give you the best articulation. The rear can stay but the front makes a big difference in your ability to tackle difficult terrain and obstacles.
I use a really big screwdriver that I have found to be handy on the trail.

4. Certainly. Since most people disconnect them on the ground for wheeling, they can by all means be installed on the ground.
