I'm not sure but I think the engine needs a cerain amount of backpressure to be efficient. Taking the muffler off might make it sounds cool but degrade your performace.

I don't know I think that the stock muffler may choke out some power.

Not a big deal but I'm suspicious.

Not back pressure, but an appropriate pipe diameter to assure velocity without restriction. A large can creates a larger heat sync, and loss of heat contracts exhaust gas, slowing it down.

Back pressure isn't an issue nor solution. You put a fat pipe on your JK you'll lose exhaust velocity, just like the tuner crowd. Then someone from that crowd decides that it's "back pressure" that needed, it's not.

So as long as you run the stock size 2.5" pipe you'll be cool.

Your right it does sound cool, But so does my Gibson, I'ts pretty loud, to but it might just be my imagination but I think it's mellowing out abit, Most runs I've been on require Spark Arresters in the wooded areas. I.E mufflers.
I actually lost about 1-2 mpg with the Gibson, Small price to pay -- lol.
