3rd Annual Rubicon Trip,with SoCal
So we are doing it again This time we would like to host a joint trip with the SoCal group This is going to happen July 7,2014 on the Tahoe side and ending at Loon. This will be 3-4 day trip, this will allow time to just relax and enjoy the view Going to limit the group size to 15ea to keep from plugging the trail. As of right now we are planning to meet at the staging area on the Tahoe side at 9:00am,allowing enough time to air down. From there our first stop will be Dirty Dozen camp ground,Tues. will be a down day.Wed. pack-up and head to Buck Island with Thurs. being a down day.Friday head for Loon Lake and off trail.Weather permitting (warm to hot) pack some sort of floation device and hang out in the lake.So check those calenders and post up....

CLOSED
CLOSED we will not be taking any more waiting list sign ups. We think there could be 1-2 more drop outs in this group so those on the Waiting List will most likely be able to go and should plan accordingly. Between the two groups we want no more than 30 jeeps so this puts us slightly over our planned number hope those of you wanting to go understand.
What the heck, last of those waiting here's your chance to go
I know there some waiting to see what happens as we get closer to the event but these events fill up fast. This why i post this event early because something always comes up.
After Rubicon dinner will held at:
Casa Ramos
6840 Green Leaf Drive
Placerville,Ca.95667
530-622-2303

Each member on the going list will receive a PM and MUST respond in order to remain on the list. This is being done to ensure we optimize the number of people on the run. Nobody likes having people drop out at the very last minute which doesn't allow someone else on the waiting list to go so please take a look at the PM and RSVP.
Run requirements.
Reminder of the requirements:
2DR 35's and Lockers
4DR 35's and rear locker
Fire Extinguisher
Tow strap and tow points
Winch
Rocker Protection
Trail spares - must be self sufficient
Spill Kit
Wag bags (Buck Island)
CB Radio Channel 36
HOTEL RESERVATIONS:
For those who want to stay with the "caravan" from So Cal, we've decided to go with round trip to Placerville or Pollock Pines (Pollock Pines is 15 miles closer to trail head) - - recommend Pollock Pines first choice and use Placerville as back up if the other sells out.
We will all meet up at same place (probably gas station) anyway before we head to the trail head so if you prefer one over the other, go for it. The plan is to drive early AM on the 7th to South Lake Tahoe (drive will be long and cold if you are sans doors). When we get off the trail on Friday we will be close to Pollock Pines and Placerville.
Plan on arriving no later than Sunday, July 6 one night. Back again Friday, July 11.
We'll have at least one hotel room we can split the cost of to store doors if you choose.
Looks like Placerville is "pet friendly" not sure about Pollock Pines. Pollock Pines has outside entry and Placerville does not.

This ain't your mama's Taco Tuesday Pot Luck?:
At last year's Rubicon trip we had a pot luck and this year we plan to continue the tradition by pulling out all the stops and having a bigger better pot luck sort of the grand daddy of Mexican Pot lucks...no this ain't your mama's Taco Tuesday especially when Caroline is involved! Please feel free to partake but don't be "that guy" and come empty handed!

I'm in! Loved my first trip to the Con last year with the JK group, would love to run it in reverse and meet new peeps. And going down Cadillac hill sounds like fun to me.
