3rd Annual Rubicon Trip,with SoCal
When I do carry a propane bottle I make sure to keep it tied down and out of direct sun. Have not had issue. The space the tank takes will be well worth it when all we have it this little cheesy propane fire pit. I am sure you'll learn to love it, especially since we can not have wood fire.

Those interested in caravaning from So Cal we'll have something up this week. It's be leaving on Friday the Fourth of July with a stop off along the way so chime in or PM me if interested so I can get you the information.
Here's the link for the campfire permit (thanks Mike!):

Frank, FYI: Vince, Scott and I will be leaving SoCal very early Friday morning on the 4th; planning to drive up the 5. We will be staying in Tahoe Friday night (at Harvey's Casino), then hitting the trail on Saturday morning from the Tahoe side. No real plans yet on how far we will go towards Loon, or where we will camp - just going to go with the flow. We will exit the trail on Tuesday the 8th on the Tahoe side and spend the night there before heading home the next day. Between the three of us, we will have two trucks and two trailers (and two Jeeps), two welders, bunch of spare parts, tools, etc., and happy to help out if your group needs anything. Before we leave, I will PM you my cell number, and Sat phone #; also, Scott will be monitoring his HAM radio, and both rigs have race radios, as well as CB's (let me know what channel you'll be on. I'm pretty sure we will see you out there.

Anyone check out the temps yet? I think it's going to be warm even at night but that's just based on previous trips at this time of year...
