That sucks, take it one step at a time replace the evap can, clear the codes, and see what pops up.

Yeah I will. One thing at a time. Luckily I'm going out of town this weekend and can do all this work at my bro-in-laws house. He has a pneumatic lift... next to his garage

One day when I can convince the wife out of suburbia I will own a manly lift like that. For now its a small 2 car garage and cardboard creepers.

Every offroader could use a lift like that. If it makes u feel better, I don't even have a garage right now... just an uneven crappy driveway. I make do fine tho as we all do

Been gone all week, first chance to get caught up. We had a great time with great friends. I keep saying this but I still haven't met a jeeper I don't like. I'm glad everyone made it home under there own power. Gonna go crawl under mine and check mine out. Thanks again Travis and we'll see everyone on the next one. Mark and Candy.

DEFCON 3 update... yup, was missing that leak detect pump SEAL (o-ring) so I ordered it online for $1.50. I don't understand why they can't just include it when you order the pump?! SMH

Hey Mike, sounds like your getting out of this pretty cheap, that's a good thing. I asked a few people about the evap and they were saying between 300 and 700 bucks. I got some codes after I relocated mine and took all the connections apart and used some silicone and been good ever since. It was good wheeling with you. Good Luck, Mark.

Yeah I'm lucky my cousin gets a discount on parts thru his dealership (although its not much less than buying parts direct online thru a moparparts site). The dealership charges almost double, around $100 for just the evap parts. Any of those Mopar parts online sites sell the evap for around $38-45 & the leak detect pump for about $12.
Your quotes of $300-700 are insane! That's probably including labor, parts, and running a smoke test to check all the lines for leaks. Still, that number is crazy.
I found the o-ring seal on my old destroyed canister tonight... so I decided to crawl under the jeep and see what happens when I put it in. Startup the jeep and abracadabra no more GASCAP error on the display. I cleared the DTCs with my tuner, drove around for a few minutes.... no more codes. A tiny ring of rubber solved my remaining issues
Scott (big-low) mentioned the o-ring to me before we left that Sunday... good call Scott!
It was a pleasure wheeling with you too Mark, and everyone else! Hopefully we'll all see each other soon at the next one!

-Mike
