I figured I'll just put some silicone on the holes as they are small and give it a "wait and see" since it's not a show stopper.

Wow Mike that seems like a good deal. I would think any smog part they would nail you.

Just picked the Jeep back up from Rebel Offroad after forking over $950 for a new Synergy tie rod and steering stab clamp, and a new Tereflex steering stab. Most that cost was for labor, alignment and I had them do an inspection of the underside and re-torque all the suspension. They actually have good prices on parts, plus they offer military discounts, so thanks Rebel!

During the inspection Rebel discovered that I bent the rear drive shaft in addition to tearing the boot off, so I hit up Chris at Jeepaddons for a set of Adam's drive shafts (1310 front/rear). $655 shipped for the set. Awesome deal... thanks Chris! That should solve the bad vibrations issue I have right now.

John Bull run proved to be quite costly for me. Wife thinks I need to take it easy on the tougher trails for a little while. I'm trying to convince her instead that I need to upgrade my RK lift to the next height and buy 37's.

Thanks again Travis for putting that run together. That trail was a blast. Have you replaced drive shafts before? I'm looking at getting it done this weekend sometime as long as they show up in the next couple days. Might have to host a wrenching party this weekend to enlist a little help.

Yeah I thought they might charge like $100+. Online at mopar parts type websites they're around $38-42. That's just for the vapor canister. The leak pump is like $12 bucks. Maybe cousin hooked me up with employee discount? Luckily he's only about 35 miles away.

I am very happy with my synergy tie rod. Supposed to be heat treated and won't bend. Mine has been tested also(fingers crossed don't want to jinx myself).

Yep, I'm fairly mechanically inclined. I've swapped engines and transmissions on my 66mustang that I used to have. I could have easily done that tie rod and the alignment as well, but the wife wouldn't have it. We have family in town for vacation and she wouldn't allow me garage time to get it done. Haha

I refuse to pay for anymore labor though. I'm doing the drive shafts myself. Only part i'm sketchy on is where I read I need a needle type torque wrench in inch lbs for measuring the rotational torque at the differentials.
Some write ups say to just torque the nut at the diff to 160 lbs and be done with it. Others say to start lower and then keep checking the rotational torque. Never dug into an axle, so not sure how finicky it is when dealing with that crush sleeve in there.
