Saw the pictures and it's making me that much more excited going up to Mammoth next week. Can't wait to finally be able to meander into places that I only saw from the road.

I love that place too. Of course I do call it home. I grew up in the town just north of the mine (Independence) tell I was 17 when we moved to San Diego. I’m leaving in 3 day 7 hour and 27 minutes to go up there. When I was young we would mess with people that visited the mine. We would hang a dummy by the neck a little way in so when your head lights hit it you would think it was real. We would also put a sign on him that read “I told him not to trust pass”. Man if they only made video cameras back then. The look on the faces was priceless and the then they would see it was just a prank and crack up. Maybe I’ll get a dummy and hang it this weekend.
