Thank you Bill and JK Forum crew for organizing the hike. It's not easy to put together an event for so many people, so I appreciate the effort. I'm glad I finally got the chance to do this hike. I'm disappointed I didn't make it all the way to the trestle, but I may try again next winter.

Some of my pictures:

I just found this perched rock interesting.

What goes down must go back up.

Some people and dogs got to meet the cholla cactus up close and personal.

The end of the hike due to time. It was 3:00 by the time we got here. We had to head back to beat the darkness, which we didn't.

So close, yet so far.

Anne's dog Dakota had to be carried out part of the way. Her paws and legs we're fried.

We found the Mortero Palms on the way back, but it turned out to be a much more difficult route. Many large boulders and drops to navigate.

Hand-offs of the dog down drops like this and larger were time consuming and energy draining, but it got done and everyone in our final nine kept a good attitude.

It was officially dark as we reached the end the palms. We still had about 1/4 mile to go, but we had some flashlights with us and the terrain got easier.

If you decide to do it on the winter let me know, I would like to make it down to the trestle and maybe hike out via Carrizo Gorge and the tracks.

Another fun JK adventure, it was a blast!

I want to acknowledge Sgt. Mack (Matt), he deserves a BRAVO ZULU for his efforts to make sure everyone returned from our adventure safely after dark !

As always, I seem to carry a camera but I always forget to use it very often

@MPC, @Sgt Mack, @enlocal, @tomslick and his chick and kid @jk-wrench and sara
I can't thank you enough for helping carry my dog down that mountain. I had a great adventure with you all and we all made it home safely even Dakota. She and I both walking funny, but it is an adventure I will never forget.

Every time I go on a trip with this group I am always pleasantly reminded of the good in humanity. Love you all!

Poor doggie, I'm glad everybody helped out. This is something is going to go down in our own personal history books. Scary at times but I had a great time with you all.
