Brett,

I'm going to have to pass on the run tomorrow. I had a bad vibration coming from the rear passenger side coming up the 55. I checked the sway bar and it's not loose, so the only thing I can think of is the bent shock is getting worse.

I'm hoping Mel is ORE tomorrow.

Don't get to CMF on Cleghorn tomorrow.

We came, We saw, We conquered Cleghorn. Well.....almost. Rigger, Woods and I got further than anybody we ran into Sat afternoon including a pack of Broncos, a fleet of Jeeps and FJ's that finally gave up and several quads and bikes. It was pretty hairy at the top with snow. We ran it until a snow slope that would throw you off the mountain stopped us. We figured 15-20 tow strap pulls between the three of us along with some good manual labor at times, ALL WORTH IT. It was a kick ass trip, some good pics and vids to follow later.

Great to meet Mike and Brett for the first time, Great Guys.

Yeah, we didn't get much road building in. On the way up, a bypass took us past the washed out road, so we didn't end up finding it till about 4:00... I don't know how much 3 guys could have helped though. 20 guys might have been able to make is safe, but there's no repairing without heavy equipment. With the new rain today, that section may washout completely.

The one section known as Cleg-Hammer was CRAZY . Got a couple of pics below.

We sure did learn a lot about wheelin in snow. Even one crazy little trick for driving across packed snow. It was a hard day, but awesome and fun. Oh and just in case anybody wants to know, we changed Riggermike's Mall Rated badge to Trail Rated. That Sahara knows no limits.

One side story. A group of 4X4's cruised up to where we were working to pull a couple of Tycoon's buddies out. Tycoon's buddies did not wheel with us, we just happen to run into them on the trail. The lead guy pulled right up behind the truck that was stuck. His winch no more than 20 feet from the truck. He got out for a minute, and we asked if he would just pull the guy out real quick. His response was somewhere along the lines of, we'll we've got 7 or 8 rigs in our group, and we really just need to get past you guys. He went and got back in his Jeep. I walked over and asked (very nicely) a second time and he again said no. I told him okay and that I don't wheel that way, but he can go do what ever he wants. He drives off to the left around the stuck truck, only to get stuck himself. He asks the rig behind him, to pull him out. Their operation is now in the way of our truck that was trying to get to where this guys Jeep was initially. So, not only was he not willing to help, but now he didn't mind getting in the way??? Needles to say, words were exchanged. By this time most of the drives in his group had gathered around. They got to see what their "Leader" had done and on behalf of the whole group apologized saying they had never seen anything like it. I'd guess the rotten apple will need to find a new club to join. In the end that group never made it past that point, and we went to run another mile or so of the trail.

Default Big Bear on Fri & Sat (Jacoby Canyon)

Went up to Big Bear and ran a couple of trails. Tried to arrange a meeting with other forum members, but it didn't work out this time.

A write-up of the weekend is here: https://www.jk-forum.com/forums/show...746#post324746

Hopefully next time, meeting up with other members will work out.

Sorry I couldn't make the run. Looks like you guys had quite the fun time! Looking at the photos and reading the trail report from Big Bear, I think a CMF run is in order to Cleghorn or Big Bear????

To follow up why I was unable to join the fun: well, Woods and I installed all of his fun kits last Friday. Let me just say, Woods has put a great deal of time and energy into the design and quality of all of his products!!!

During the install, I cut my black shock boots off, because... well... they have always looked bad. AND I have always wanted my Jeep to look like Puddlz's.

And this is what I found hiding under the rear passenger side shock boot:

Nice little bend in the shock... I have no idea how it got this way. Eddie was kind enough to answer my PM with some ideas and I'm contacting Mel at ORE (because he install the FT lift) today to see if he can't get under there and find out what happened... stay tuned.

Back to Wood’s BIG INSTALL: I'm in the process of writing up the installs and I want Woods to review before I post 'em... of course, my job is getting in the way, but I hope to have something to Woods early next week. I do want to say that Woods has some great ideas and great products. And it's nice to find someone who puts so much thought into the design and cares so much about quality. Our 4 hour install turned into 7+ because he is really, very much concerned with the quality of his products - he simply doesn't cut corners or use inferior materials. There may be similar products out there that install in less time, but they are not of the same quality or design.

Thought Woods and Rigger would enjoy this clip I found. This is the group with the jackass fearless leader that didn't want to help pull a ford ranger out of the road because "They just needed to get buy". Needless to say it looks as though they didn't end up getting any further than that point.... Idiots, or actually Idiot...the rest of the group was pretty cool.

Classic that you found that. I wonder how that guy rolled the red Jeep?

Yup, them's mine. Sounds like we'll have to do another run, so I can get'em
