Did you freeze them? Freezer or Dry Ice?

Had in freezer for 6 days but my axle tubes were also in pretty good shape. I haven't been going hard/hardcore on the trails because I didn't have C's done yet until recently. Been pretty easy on the pedal.

If you think your tubes might be bent a little, I'd do dry ice the night before after having them in the freezer for several days. Like Hayward said, you'll spend about $40 in dry ice but it'll definitely shrink them more compared to your typical freezer.

The first go around of installs we did was with dry ice and bearing install tool.After that i made that custom tool which does not require freezer or dry ice

Yes. That is what I meant. First time installing a set, I heard all the complaints from friends and forum posters. An engineer friend of mine recommended placing them in the fridge. I thought, "Sure, that will work!" (With great sarcasm). But, it seemed to help considerably. Since then, that is the technique I have used, along with cleaning the axle tubes thoroughly and lubing them, and it has not let me down yet.
