Offroad shop
@aermotor, Excellent! You will have a great time up here. If you are going to be skiing it can get pretty crowded at Wolf Creek around that time. The trick is to stick to the Alberta Lift, usually no line and the best part of the mountain.
In my ongoing quest to find "The Shop" in Southern California to perform a good laundry list of items on my Jeep this month (and more in the future) I am amazed at the lack of options. There has been the recommendations for a couple speciality jeep shops, emailed then a build list, weeks later haven't heard back from them. Obviously if someone wont treat you well before the purchase, you cant expect much during or after. Looked at national chains in the area like 4WD, but a brief search on the internet reveals a host of complaints and horror stories. Looked at some basic off road shops but they seem to specialize in more Truck "work" and I was looking for a outfit that were experts on Jeeps. Is the answer that there is no great place in SoCal?
Here is their site: http://offroadevolution.com/
Their email is on it.
And they would be the best out here in So Cal. If they haven't gotten back to you by the forum, it just means they have been busy. Give them a call!

Mel, if you read this, you're doing my re-gear and RCV D30 shafts, pimp! That is, as soon as I get the 'skrilla saved up from slinging dem Fritos and Cheetos. Ya DIIIIIIIIIIIIIG?!?!Russ D.
i havent dealt with them personally but i have seen their work and once i have the means to really go crazy with my rig it will definitely be done by EVO. i know someone who has one of their four door builds with d60s and 40s with their KING coilovers, he goes through anything you can think of with the comfort of a cadillac, its a beast. if you want work done you want EVO doing the work.
Evo sounds good, but they are not responding to correspondences. I did get a email back after asking if they were getting my emails saying they did get them and will get back to me when they have the opportunity, but nothing else. They are either incredibly busy, which means they dont have time to work on my jeep or 5K in work is too low of amount to make a priority.
There must be a place in SoCal that does a great job and wants your business, or do I have a choice of one or the other?

Yes, they are busy and that is because so many people want the best shop with the best systems to do their work. So being that EVO has their own skilled employees you will have to just get yourself in line to get the work done. If you are just looking for gears and tires maybe you should just get them done locally. If you want a new suspention than drive down and leave it with EVO..

Have you called the shop?

Calling is the best way to get your build started. When you call we will get your invoice started, get your billing info, and once the parts are all in we will get you scheduled. Any sales rep that answers the phone can get you started on your quest to EVOlve.

Really not my intention to "trash" them. I am looking for advice and need to give at least a vague reason why the advice I have been given is not working. I would assume others have been in the same situation. No business is above public reflection or taboo in analyzation.
If I could get the work done "locally" I would of course choose that over a arduous drive to the west coast. But I have the opportunity to mix a business trip with bringing my jeep to California to get work done and perhaps a little Jeeping on the way back.
The phrase "get yourself in line to get the work done" seems to me to be arrogant. No matter how good a business is, they never survive taking their customers for granted. Over the years businesses have tried this model and it can work for a while as long as people are buy into "they are so special I am going to let them treat me poorly". But if you look at those business addresses today you will find they are boarded up or there is a Starbucks there now.
