So any update on what the final plans are going to be? If we go with the orginal plan and meet at 10:30, then I assume we are not getting breakfast again correct?

If you want to head out earlier, we could drive out together and grab breakfast. Might end up heading in different directions after that, but who knows?

I guess we could spend Saturday and Sunday morning at camp with everyone, then do something shorter when you guys head out. The dunes will work as a photo op for me - I can do the Racetrack another time, especially since I can do it solo on Racetrack Road.

JKTyrant, maybe we can plan a shorter run on Sunday for anyone who has head out later that day?

I'd definently be in for some breakfast. Mapquest says it take about 3.5 hours to get there from here, so it would have to be an early breakfast, but I'd be in for it. Lets see what the final plan is before we make any decisions though.

Thumbs up we're in too!

Ryan and I are in.
We're coming out Sunday, have to work on Monday.
I think we'll leave when we hit the race track and go out. I need to check on time frames of the trip.
See you there!!!

Doojer, remember the movie Risky Business? There's a line in there that goes:

I think now's the time for you to say this and join in!!
Let's go for the dirt!!!

I really do apologize for getting back to you so late on this. Being gone a week has left me buried under a pile of work and catching up has been very difficult to do. In fact, I was going to post last night but fell asleep at about 9:30pm (very unusual for me ).

Anyway, as it turns out, Andrew has a marching band event on Monday so we are going to have to cut this trip short for us. And, as it stands, we still are planning to head out to DV but just Sat to Sun. Specifically, we are going to head up to the Race Tracks, camp out there and then come back home on Sun. Those of you who wish to see/do more, you are more than welcome to meet up with us at the Lippencott trail head on Sat.

This is our new tentative itinerary:
• Sat morning - Leave Laguna Niguel - 6:30am
• Meet up at the Mt. Whitney Restaurant in Lone Pine at 10:00am
• Top off our tanks
• Head south east onto 136
• Make our way into DV on Cerro Gordo Rd.
• Make a stop at Cerro Gordo
• Decend into Lee Flat
• Cross over into Saline Valley
• Meet up with any one already in DV at the Lippencott trail head at 2:00pm
• Make our way up Lippencott Mine Rd. to Race Tracks
• Setup Camp at south end of the Race Tracks
• Sun morning - Head north to Teakettle Jct.
• Head south down Hidden Valley
• Cross Hunter Mt.
• Head out 190 to home

Please let me know if you have any questions

Sounds good. If you don't mind, I'll PM you my cell number, so we can hook up on the way out Saturday morning.
