Default SoCal Camping?

I wanted to take my kids camping in Big Bear or Lake Arrowhead. All full for this weekend!

I am up for suggestions! I don't need a developed site. Just someplace the kids can have fun and i can get to with a 2wd truck.

Patrick,

Gorman has several locations you can camp although it will be hot during the day time. There is also Oneill Park where we had the MEET-n-Greet, or several other spots off of Ortega .....

just throwing it out there

Good luck and have fun,
Jake

Hey guys he wants to go to the cool pines not the 100 degree desert. I would have to agree with dr. dirty that serrano is a good one especially with kids because there are alot of activities close by. Pine knot is also good but a little more in the hills. They are both reservation only. Reservations.

Big Bear has lots of yellow post sites off the trails. First come first serve - just get there early enough to beat everyone else. I think I have a link to a site that lists them, if you want to me look for it.

Guess you'd really need a backup plan, though, huh?

Here's the link if you're interested. I don't think this is all of them, but there are quite a few shown on the map with descriptions.

Lytle Creek, Gorman, and Hemet. I'd call that desert.
