3rd Annual Skyline Trail Ride Weekend - Jan 27th-29th - 2012

The only warnings currently in place are for the Big Nance and Paint Rock rivers. The only water over the road is 2 miles north of hwy 72 on SR 65. That is just outside Huntsville near Gurley, AL where we went on Sunday last year. Which is about an hour or so away if I remember correctly. Paint rock valley may be flooded but did he give you specific info about water levels for where we were going? It looks like a completely different tributary system than the creek we will be riding through. Just saying don't get turned away just because there is a little flooding in another part of the state...

I'm saying this because I think you both should still come out. Hate to see ya bail so close to the trip. Hell, I will drive up Wednesday night and take a pic of my Jeep in the creek if I have to... ;-)
If it was a 2hr trip and not 5 it wouldn't be an issue.

Haha, yes I will. We should be getting up there about 1ish... I understand your trepidation, I will know more after I can get to a proper computer and not my phone. Ryan, what are those flood stage levels for in your post from NOAA? It shows the lowest at 21.5 and the paint rock river is currently at 18.8 so if those are for that river then it is still 3 feet until it starts getting to the houseboats... That info seems menacing out of context.

Like Jayson said, if it werent 5-6 hours from here, Id be there no questions. The ranger's number is 256-587-3114. The guy I talked to on Monday I think was picking his nose while I was talking to so he wasnt too informative. Most of that NOAA crap I posted, I posted for you guys to interpret since its your neck of the woods.
