Just installed my CB in the Jeep, and I have to say I think I did a steller job. As for channel 22 or 23 is good for me. I don't think I can tune my new antenna, but I may try to pick up a Firestick this week. Does anyone have a antenna tuning thing-a-mug-jig?

Now I have to install lift one day this week.

Is there anyone that is leaving Sat. morning from B'ham? Maybe caravan from there.

I have an SWR meter, but I'm not 100% sure we'll be able to get far enough away from everything to tune an antenna on site. I'll bring it along just in case though. I reckon I can just tune into the 22-23 range if that's where everyone else will be.

As of right now, this is my travel plans:

Point A = My Place
Point B = McD's (possible GA meet up place)
Point C = Mountainside (Listed address on website, may differ from actual trailhead)
http://www.bing.com/maps/#JmNwPTM0Lj...RvcD0wfjB+MH4=

Leave my place at 6am (GA time) and get to McD's off Hwy 20 and I-75 around 6:40am. This can be a meet up point for anyone who is coming from North Ga? Let me know if you do want to meet there and I'll wait. (Cell 404-983-4949). Then I proceed to Gadsen and arrive around 7:30am (AL time) (8:30 Ga time). Air down/disconnect and be on the trail at 8am as Bama suggested.

I will have to be back in ATL around 6pm for a party at my place. (So I'll have to clean myself up) I wish I could leave on Friday night BUT I will be working at the bar from 9pm til 4am that night. So 2 hours of sleep will be ok.... I've done it many times before.

Call/text/pm/whatever and let me know if anyone will be meeting up to caravan over with me. I don't want to take I-20 as it adds 30 miles to the trip and doesn't really benefit myself on time factor.

Sorry this is off topic but, Kenny, I just noticed where you are located. But right down the road from you is a friend of mine who puts on a big animated christmas display, take the family and check it out.

Here is his website with directions:

I do this at my house and it's ANOTHER one of my hobbies, but the Jeep got all the attention this year. As I type this there is a nice line of cars down the street watching our show.

As for the ride....I might have just missed it in the thread, but where is the staging area for the trails? And where do we pay? I have never been there so forgive me.

I will be heading up there from Birmingham Saturday morning, let me know if you want to meet somewhere. I live just south of birmingham off of I-65 between the Lakeshore Dr. and Alford Ave. exits

Also let me know if you need any help installing the lift this week.

You pay as you drive up a gravel road into the park. It's fairly casual, they have a tent canopy set up along the side - you stop, sign a release, then pay $10 a person. Driving up the gravel road another couple hundred feet or so takes you to the main parking lot/assembly area. I suggest we meet there throughout the morning as folks filter in from various locations.

By the way, make sure you ask for a map when you pay.

Can a stock rig come out to play?

Not lifted, have rubi wheels / MT tires, trak loc rear, no winch, have front hooks & rear trailer ball to recover if needed, no cb, decent driving skills.

There should be terrain for all levels of wheelin', so bring it on. Bhy the way I graduated from West Hall High School. Use to live in the Harbors right by the bridge on McEver Road.

I live i Riverchase in Hoover, so lets meet up at the Chevron on at Alford Ave and 65. I can get gas before we head up. Maybe 4:30 or 5:00. Let me know with one.

I definitely need help with the lift. Have you installed a lift before, and do you have any air tools?
