On a side note, Landers is fucking annoying to me. It sucks that I have to bring my Jeep in so they can "look at it". I fucking "looked" at it for you. Order the goddamn part and call me when its in. Its such a pain in the ass to bring them my Jeep, then they tell me its broke (no fucking shit), then give it back, and say "ummmmmm bring it back in like 4 days because we don't have the part and I'm a mouth breather." I have no confidence in this fuckers ability to fix anything.
that video hurt me to watch i cant do it again....

yea, their dickheads for sure....glad i dont have to deal with them....anymore...

watched the re-run of the jk hemi vs supercharger build, yea that poor guy was clueless, just clueless...so what i took from that show was a supercharger will give you the same performance\hp\torque as a hemi build and is still "programable" with a superchips program for around 6k, really? i mean really? or was that just made for tv drama?
All I took away from it is, invest in a mountain of 3.6L V6 motors. Boost on these motors is just a bad idea IMO

I can't take anything away from the RIPP guys. They did their homework and have come up with a DIY kit that will bolt onto the 3.8L V6, and with the right amount of tuning, will put down some impressive numbers. Is this tune street-able, or trail-able? I have no idea. I have my doubts that you could drive that JK on the street or trail, in the form that they tuned it to get those numbers, and have it be driveable and not blow itself up. This is based solely on my personal thoughts and experience with the 3.8L V6. I hate that engine. Putting boost to it is only going to make things go south that much quicker, IMO.

I cannot confirm how much time and money was put into the Xtreme JK, as far as getting that engine/SC combo to run. I was impressed at the numbers it put down. But, in my experience, the Hemi is still the better alternative. Especially in my case, where I didn't have the base engine to build off of.
I can say, that for around $11k (less if you get a better deal on the engine and transmission), you can get Hemi V8 power and reliability.
And I don't know how well the Superchips or other programmers would allow you to tune, aside from what they already do to the normal 3.8L. I don't think you can adjust any of the SC parameters. I could be wrong.

If I had it to do over again, knowing what the SC and Hemi can do .......... I still choose Hemi. If I am dropping that much coin on a SC, then why not drop a little more and get the V8??
I am no expert on curves, but this is what they look like:
Hemi:

RIPP:

The Hemis were hitting the speed limiter on all of the runs, so I don't know if there was more to be had on the top end or not. The curve was still going up at the end, so who knows?

great insight there anthony, thanks...im not sure if you just saved me, what about 6k for the supercharger or just cost me twice that for a hemi

i think i will go back to just driving the hell out of henry, and not worrying about it until or if something happens to the piece of shit they call a motor under the hood....

No problem Robin!

You could do a Hemi swap for much less than what it cost me, or what the shops want for it .......... using a higher mileage, or older truck engine would be cheaper. Same for the transmission.

I just added up the Stage II RIPP setup, with intercooler, and the header/muffler/diablo tuner option on RIPP's website. Came up to $6850.00, before install and tune. And tax, shipping, etc. So, you are still looking at over $7k for the RIPP. And you still have the crap-tastic 3.8L engine in there.
I know for a fact, if you shop around, get the lowest prices available, the Hemi swap could come in well under $10k.

I dunno .............. Hemi stills seems the way to go. But I am just a little biased.
I have absolutely ZERO real world time in a SC JK. I have no idea how they drive, pull, or react to skinny pedal stomping.
I KNOW how the Hemi does all of these things. And I will never go back to a V6 in my JK again ..............

I hope they do the right thing for you, man. I know I have heard many horror stories about dealerships denying "Lifetime" warranties. Hopefully this won't happen in your case.
