Not that I have any say in the matter...But Coal Creek (Windrock) is the place to be. As stated before, it has everything you would need. There are trails everywhere you look. The place has to be one of the biggest in the U.S. (Don't know that as a fact, just saying). This place would accomodate everyone from extreme to beginner.

I have to agree. Coal Creek would probably be our best bet.(But I am kinda partial to the place) It does have everything any one would need and plenty of trails. This is actually the largest OHV park in the southeast (according to one of the magazines I have read...believe it was JP Mag). You get to ride as late as you want and you don't have to pay a night riding fee like some places. Just my thoughts.

I have never been there, I dont think it is even open yet, but HEY! It's a thought!

I have a few friends that have been there on their quads and they say it is pretty nice with plenty of areas for everyone. According to their website, they say they will be open in March for vehicles, so we will have to wait and see until then

Here is some info from the Coal Creek web page. Do I read this correctly that all people no matter their age need to purchase a land use permit? Do I have to pay for my 4 year old to ride with me? It would cost me $132 for my son, wife and myself to ride for 3 days? Any clue???

Land Use Permits
A Land use permit is required for each person entering the Coal Creek OHV Area.

Cost for the permits are as follows:

$17.00 Daily permit
$33.00 Two day permit
$44.00 Three day permit
$55.00 Four day permit
$88.00 Yearly permit
Each person, no matter their age or activity, must have a permit. Each person entering the area is required to have their permit along with the pink copy of their permit with them at all times while on the property.

Thats the way I took it, I have twin 4 y/o girls and us would be $176. I think I read somewhere that because it is a private owned OHV by the coal company they have an accountability issue with people on private property and since everyone has to pay regardless of age its a way to say "well you payed to get in you accept the responsibility"

Not cracking on you guys by any means but, have you taking the family out for a single night at the movies lately Or even worse a trip to the nearest water park, lol. Three days of fun for the entire family for under $200 is a bargain!

Just seems a little much for children to have to have a permit if they are riding in a car seat! I would understand if they were driving a ATV or something! When planning this event we must think of the cost, I want as many people to attend that possibly can!

It is $17 a person regardless of age. This is why I haven't taken my 4 year old with me when I have gone. (windrock)
