Do you know of any reason why they want children under 5-6 to have a permit? Looks like I'll be having the 4 year old work off his fee to go if we choose Windrock!

I can't figure it out. Doesn't make sense, but there has to be reason. I don't think it's greed, but who knows.

I would vote against this place, due to the cost. The distance is also a factor.

The per person fee is a component of their insurance policy. Remember it is privately owned and with roughly 80,000 acres and hundreds of thousands of visitors each year, playing with every kind of vehicle you can imagine, it makes for unique insurance situation.

Still extremely cheap for what you are getting in return.

Hey man I totally understand that, that is what they have to charge. I am just stating that I would not be willing to pay that. I'm OK on money, not a cheap person. But, after spending that much on gas to get there, I mean almost $200? For what you get, most my trails are free...I think this event would kick ass, but for that much money, I'm staying to my home trails and buying a winch.

Yeah if I lived only 30 miles away from here I would be voting for it too!! But you figure most of us are going to be spending around $100-$200 on fuel at the least, 3 nights lodging say conservatively $59.95 per night $180 total, Food $100-$150 for a family of 4, on top of that $176 just park fees. I just think that in this economy there are better options out there to save a little green. I already figured that I will be driving a good distance to wherever we decide so if I am able to save a hundred bucks or so it's worth going somewhere else to me! IMO

Also, I would like to go somewhere that we have the option on a campsite. Nothing cooler than 30+ JEEPS and everybody camps. Just saying, if I'm going, I might as well camp.

If we follow you like we did going to Beasley, we would get there in under 2 hours!
