Awesome! Never thought of doing that. Would work out better than a strap in the way.

If you look really closely in this pic, you can see me standing on my rack doing some "photography" (probably better described as screwin' around takin' pics )

All joking aside, the platform is quite stable, but you will obviously get some motion from the vehicle suspension, so it's not 100% rock solid. I haven't set the tripod up there, but I obviously use a roof top tent (two people + 150 lbs. for the tent). I have set a camp chair up there just to hang out for a better view, no problems there either.

I would definitely say get the front insert panel if you're planning on using it for photography and have gear you need to store, since the platform without the panel would probably be a little tight.

Here are some finely-crafted photographs that resulted from the above:

Looks like a FUN time, start or finish of a run.

Is it best to call to place an order or just online? Need one for a 2door.

Online would be the best.

And please email me with any questions or concerns.

Wind Deflector! I'm assuming they dropped the ball since it's 2 days past and no updates. Grrrrr.

With all due respect, you asked for these videos less than a week ago, and the response was basically "when it warms up and stops raining, we will get them for you." You are not the only one who's asking, and I think it makes sense to do them, but your timeline is a little unrealistic.

It's not a trivial thing to put a really informative video together. Just in terms of setting expectations, you will probably have to wait a few more weeks or longer for us to shoot one for you.

EDIT: Sorry, it looks like one one ever actually said that (when it gets warmer we'll take it) -- but I was thinking it, I swear! (In any case, the disclaimer on lead time for the videos still stands)
