I'm not interested in the Recon, I want the Stealth. I would prefer they built it, the design is so nice. But unless I hear some news they are addressing this issue, I'll just clone their design with my changes.

I'd be happy to share my design changes with them.
I would also like the sunrider option but by the time I tip the rack it is just as easy to put the whole top down. If you need the rack its either all topless or nothing at all. My weather (Portland) is not much better that yours but I am willing to take the whole top down whenever I get the chance. I use the hardtop in the winter and remove the inserts without tilting the rack if I get a day off from the rain. I had the stealth first but with the 2010 I needed to go the the recon. It's worked out fine for me.

Anyone know if the Gobi rack will fit on a 2012? I have it on an '08 now and was thinking about buying a '12.

Does the Stealth not work with 2010's and above?

Both the Stealth and Ranger will work with all years. For the 2010+ you'll want the Stealth Recon or Ranger Recon. The Recon versions of the lightbars are angled at the top to allow the cable softtop to clear when opening.

Highly recommend the Recon version, even when I had it on my 08, made opening/closing the soft top much easier than the traditional lightbar.

Thanks for the info. As much as I love the look of Gobi Racks, I may end up having my own fabricated. Seems like if they made the rack wider, and made the floors removable in sections, it would better accommodate our needs.

I really like the look of the Stealth, and the lower profile allows me to throw my canoe on the top, as well as probably less wind resistance and as a result less noise.

I'd go with the Wild Boar, but it requires drilling. Manufacturers out there might take heed. There's a void to be filled.

Default Holding up to the weather

How are the Gobi racks holding up to the weather. Any rusting or pitting?

I live in the SF Bay area and had a quality powder coated rack on my truck. Within a year it was a rust bucket. I spent hours in preventative maintenance on that thing before I finally dumped it.

I am interested in the Gobi Stealth Rack. But for the price, I don't want something I'll be scrapping and painting for eternity.

I am getting so confused. I have a 2010 four door. Is there a Gobi Rack that will accommodate the sun rider option? I am hearing many different things. Does anyone have one on a 2010 and if so can you just open the front of the top? Thanks.

No. The 2010+ cable soft top will not fit below the rack in sunrider mode. The arches that come off the first support bow interfere with it being able to secure the rack back to the lightbar. If you had an older softtop (07-09) that used the sailpanel closures instead of cables, it would work in sunrider.

Thanks for the response. Do all 2010's have the cable system? I am not sure what I have. Thanks

Hi,
Your Inbox is full so here is my question.

Im after a Gobi stealth rack and would like a price on one sent to me in Australia. My address is 127 Ferry Road Southport, Queensland 4215.

How much extra height does this rack add to the Jeep?
