Alpha Expedition: Gobi Roof Rack.

How are the Gobi racks holding up to the weather. Any rusting or pitting?
I live in the SF Bay area and had a quality powder coated rack on my truck. Within a year it was a rust bucket. I spent hours in preventative maintenance on that thing before I finally dumped it.
I am interested in the Gobi Stealth Rack. But for the price, I don't want something I'll be scrapping and painting for eternity.

I just ordered the Gobi Ranger right before the holidays from David... he was able to answer all my questions and ship me the rack in lightning fast time... I just put over 2000 miles on my jeep with the ranger and about 275 lbs of gear... it did great. Here is a link to a YouTube video I just posted if anyone is interested in seeing more detail... I looked everywhere for a YouTube video before purchasing, but the only two on the net are from David... and they are too short to get a feel for the rack... this should help those that like to see more detail in video versus just pics...

The Gobi tilts back as well. Only problem Ive seen is corrosion around the quick disco area. Ive had to do some sanding and recoating and the problem still exists. Otherwise a great rack. And turkeychaser, your Jeep looks amazing.
Thanks for posting nice rack. I have been debating exactly what kind of rack to get. I want to be able to take the top off easily - in the garage solo with a hoist. I've some racks that have a disconnect and tilt back allowing you to take the top off (I think). How does this one work. Those designs would not work in my garage.
As mentioned in the above post... the Gobi tilts back as well... with the quick disconnects you can tilt it back in literally seconds... but you could not do this in a garage... mine fits in my garage with 3.5 AEV and 35's... but only by 1/4 inch if that... hope that helps.
