Wood have to be drilled. I like the idea of a clamp on, but I'm not seeing how it can be done and be strong enough to support 300 lbs.

Default Rubi-Steps prototype pics

K, got some pics of a VERY ROUGH prototype.

Here's the link RUBI-STEPS PICS

Don't know if you can tell, but each end is a different design. The final would be a mix of both.

These are reversible, so they can mount high or low.

They would bolt on with 3/8" bolts and be removable. These use a long through-bolt. Bolts are not shown in pictures

I'd offer a less expensive weld-on version. The weld-on kit would be bare metal without the mount plates

Let me know what ya think

Nor Bad, I like them. Think the weld on would be the way to go....

I'm 50/50 on this or the full rails...thanks for the efforts so far.
The set with come with grip tape. I could look at doing a filler plate, that would form a wider step. I'll look to the group for feedback on this. I'd guess that it would add $30 - $40, to the pair. I'm getting a little ahead of myself though. I'll send these in to start the pricing process on Monday.

I don't have any plans for cleaning up the prototype. The next step would be a production version. The production version would be CNC mandrel bent tubes, with Laser Cut and CNC formed mount brackets. And the welds will look like a stack of dimes.

I'll definitely offer both.

I also, just heard that the full rails are ready to start shipping on Monday.

I have the enhanced rails(unlimited). I wonder how a step would work/look on it? Wife is prego and Jeep is getting too tall.

The weld-on kit would work, if you have a tube notcher. Heck, I'd not them for you, for $40

Thanks for the idea.

Congrats on the baby

Great idea. I have the Rubi Rails and that would be the perfect addition to help my wife (and others) get a leg up when I finally get my lift. Add me to your list of ten to get this started as soon as possible.

Are you going to have 2 steps for each side for the 4dr? If so what would a rough guess in price be? I'm interested, but I don't want to pay $1000 or more because I have an unlimited.
