I would go with the polks i did the difference was not all that great but clearer bass and midrange. still no high end as this is cut off within the amp. so a new amp is the real answer to make these speakers sing as for quadratec way to expensive for the shipping i never use them anymore.

a little Off topic.

i just bought a Cobra CB from frys checked online at frys $85 great price, went to the store to buy sorry that is our online price they wanted $119 in store. so shop around

Anyone have an opinion on the JBL Grand Touring Series GTO527? They seem to be the only 2 ohm speakers listed for the roll bar.

These are what I have in mine and I love them. Definate difference in sound volume and quality....more bass, crisper high's.

Interesting thread!

I know the muddy sound in my Rubicon is driving me nuts, so after some looking around and a lot of reading I had to go for the Polk db651s from Crutchfield. Better bang for the buck from everything I'm reading, and you can't beat free hardware.

Now to see about that rear sub...

Default kicker install.........

first of all, I bought my kicker DS650 from ebay.... $47.00 +free shipping. I used no bracket no special wiring harness. if you feel comfortable with putting four small black screws thru the existing grill you can save $100.00!!!!!!!!!!! I rather see four screws in a grill and also see $100.00 in my pocket!!!!!! here's the install. take off grill from roll bar..... remove infinty, made in china, speaker. place ds650 inside of grill.......using the screws that came with speakers, screw thru from the back side of the speaker, thru the grill until the screw shows up on the front side of the grill....do this on all 4 points of the speaker....remove all the screws and invert the process. I only did this because I didnt have a drill......Maguiver style....as your putting the srew from the front of the grill going towards the back, make sure it lines up with the speaker hole.....place the retaining clip on back edge of speaker lip and hold until the screw goes rite thru. do not over tighten as this will cause the grill to warp. take the wires that came with the speakers attach them to the speaker and with the other end of the wire shove it into the oem plug that you removed from the oem speaker... make sure u put it thru the snug hole not the loose one....... finnaly take a can of spray foam sealant and spray a generous amount of foam towards the hole that faces the center lite on the roll bar. attach oem grill, (which has the kicker ds650 speaker in it), to its mounting place and BAM!!!!! PUMP UP THE VOLUME. it took a little effort!!!!!!! but for a HUNDRED DOLLARS it was worth it!!!!!!!!!!

i installed the Kicker soundbar replacement speaker kit from quadrated tonight, and OMG what a difference!! i can actually hear the sound from the soundbar now! i also filled the sound bar with poly-fil. i do have the stock infinity amp with sub, i did put in a JVC Navi head unit, did not use the PAC, couldn't tell you what was used cuz the guy who installed it didn't like the PAC and did it his way, don't know what that was, but it all sounds great now! woohoo! thanks Quadratec!
