Poison Spyder Evap Skid
An issue has risen with 2012 JKU's tearing their rear driveshaft boot and hitting the driveshaft weights on the stock skid. Doesn't seem to be any more clearance between the stock shaft and the PS skid, anyone know if this skid will solve that issue or still have the issue.
hey dusty, what do you know? it looks like i only need 1/2" or so more clearance between the stock rear drive shaft and the stock 2012 evap skid. how does the clearance between a stock year drives shaft and teh poison spyder skid compare with the stock skid clearance/
I don't have any measurements I can give you. All I can tell you is that on our 2012, we test-fit the Evap skid on it before we removed the stock exhaust and driveshaft. I wasn't out there when that happened and I don't have any photos to refer to. All I have is our GM's word that "it fit fine". Unfortunately our 2012 no longer has the stock exhaust or driveshaft, so I am not able to re-do the test fit and take measurements and photos. If you buy one and it does not fit, we will of course refund your money and pay to ship it back.
thanks dusty. i'm sure it will fit since you tested it, but the question is when articulating whether it will rub the stock drive shaft boot just like the stock skid does. if you get another chance, the difference in clearance would be good to know.
maybe someone else who bought one could do some measurements with both skids and let us all know.

This slide plate looks good. Does Poison Spider also make a skid plate for the evap canister and a compressed air tank, or a similar solution?
I am looking for options to mount that Viair 2.5 gallons tank under the Jeep and keep it protected.

i installed my poison spyder evap skid today. first the reason - my driveshaft hit the skid on a recent run and damaged the driveshaft boot, the driveshaft weights and boot metal collar scraped the skid. you can see the two spots where the paint is scraped off of the edge of the skid. here are those pictures:

the ps skid gives me 2" clearance to the driveshaft boot, the stock mopar skid clearance was 1-3/16". from the damage, i think that's enough to prevent the problem. the ps skid is further away from the driveshaft than the gas tank skid is, distance from the boot to the gas tank skid is about 1-3/4". here are those pictures:
