Yes water can get in there. No it does not result in any problems. Plenty of discussion and testimony about this if you read back through the thread or our similar threads on other sites.

Well its $129 bare aluminum, $159 powder coated. So maybe you were thinking of the coated one.

Sorry if this was answered. THis is a very long thread. What do you use to cut the hood?

And I guess like anything else the factory warranty stays intact unless they can prove that water from cutting the hood is the issue?

 

Same here but I was going to paint mine CG. I didn't think a powdercoater could actually match the exact color? Any info on this?

 

Did you find a place to do it for you?

 

I had a buddy of mine powder coat it flat black. I looked around for the color match but NOBODY has anything remotely close to CG.

I know a local paint shop that can match the paint code PGH (I got a couple custom rattlecans that look perfect for CG) but powdercoat is a different process altogether and having difficulty getting any confirmation it can be done. From what I've gathered so far, most powdercoaters use whatever colors they have available but can't color match identically

Most likely I'll just paint & clearcoat my hood louver. I can always powdercoat it black in the future.
