Ok, 1 more Gen II install. Working on install the rest of the week. Just received my tune last night. Doing my install in stages.

EDIT - LOL I just noticed the zip tie, that has been resolved, the pipe clamp I got with the kit decided to crap out on me and went to peices. Got a new one from Autozone.

Yin--- did you get the V1 or V2 MAP sensor, the V2 screws into the manifold, I don't think everyone needs the V2, but I was wondering b/c mine does

And no software for V2 yet

RIPPs working with a couple of snorkel vendors, I don't know how far along they are. They offer an enclosed air box/filter that could probably be fitted to an existing snorkel easily.

I guess the V2 because it screwed into the manifold. I got my tune from Ross last night. Finished the install tonight. Ran it as per instructions and no codes. Took it for a little spin and only got to 35mph. I will know more tomorrow when I get it on the interstate @ 70 mph.

Here is one finished. I will be moving the pipe clamp down and not so tight @ the throttle body.... @ Ross

Thanks Yin, yea that's the V2 MAP... Maybe they decided all automatics needed it. I guess I'll keep bugging them for the software. It's been like a week since I got the new sensor.

Let us know how it goes.

Here is something that is pretty nice to see. I dont know how true it is. I usually see 14 doing everyday driving. I filled up today and will be checking to see how accurate this is. The computer is usually +1mi optomistic.

All GEN2 kits went out with RIPP 2.0 tunes, the screw in type MAP sensor (not the factory style twist in) if you don't have the MAP or tune be sure to email tech@rippmods.com and they'll get it out...

I decided that there was just to much bling going on behind the grill. I did a very light dusting of paint in flat black. I didnt see any change in my intake air temp after doing this.

FYI - Here is an interesting little tid-bit of info on the intercooler vs stock air box.

Stock air box intake temp - I have noticed it being 15-20 degrees higher than the ambiant air. So if its 80deg outside the intake air at the throttle body was 100deg.

RIPP with intercooler and blower - I know that the blower compresses air, which makes heat, I just dont know how much heat. The blower basically pulls from the same location as the stock air box. I noticed that 80deg outside running thru the blower, then thru intercooler that it was in the 100deg range also.
10 parts air stock vs 50 parts air supercharged - the intercooler has to do 4-5x the cooling of the air to reach the stock temp. I guess it works.
Theres my useless little nugget of the day.
