Nope, I had thin plastic seals on the decklid and the front piece that goes against the seatbacks. No other weatherstripping or seals...

Default Minor problems...

First of all, I think the Tuffy security deck cover is first rate and I love mine! It keeps the prying eyes out of your cargo area, and it's really sturdy to stack things on top...

There were a few minor annoyances though.

Now, a few of my gripes about the cover:

1. Packaging was very heavy duty, but on mine the passenger's side was still a little bent. There was a protective rail bolted to the rear of the deck, but not on the front (as installed). I bent it back out with vise grips and a cloth, but maybe there could be a little more protection...

2. The 4 rubber sleeves that go on the decklid are thin and delicate. One of mine tore when I installed the cover. Maybe a harder poly bushing or brass material would work better.

3. The tabs for the 2-door installation stick out, I may end up cutting a little of my carpet around the area to tuck them under the carpet for aesthetics. It looks unfinished with those tabs

4. Instead of the big washers to lock the deck in, maybe a thicker wheel shaped metal piece would roll better.

I'e been waiting for someone to get it for their 2 door can you post some pics of what it looks like in it and the areas you are displeased with ? After you just mentioned about the unfinished looking areas along with your other concerns it seems to pay this much for an item it should be better finished or even one meant for the 2dr vs 4 dr ?

Default received and installed...way easy

The Tuffy security deck was waiting on my doorstep when i got home from work yesterday. This morning it took about an hour to install (could have been much faster, but i took my sweet time). Like a few mentioned above, the tab that attaches to passenger seat bolt was slightly bent, but overall well packaged. This box is really stout and I like have the ledge to stack things on. Now to figure out how best to store top of deck if I have to carry something big. Also need to craft a prop rod.

Cheers.

Well, it's in and I'm loving it! (please pardon the crappy camera-phone pic, my real camera is out of commission at the moment)

The pieces are very sturdy and well made and the installation was a piece of cake. I did have one bent tab, as well (passenger side panel) but it was bent back easily enough. We guessed if we had to do it again knowing what we know now, we could probably have it installed in about a half-hour. I will post up more comments in the main forum.

After checking with our final assembly/packaging guys, it looks like there were some of the Security Enclosures that made it out the door without the roll of rubber seal. Although the install can be done without the seal, it will most likely lead to metal on metal rattles that no one wants to listen to.
For anyone that did not get the rubber seal, please call us at 1-800-348-8339 or email us at web_sales@tuffyproducts.com with your name, address and phone number. We will send the rubber seal right away. Extremely sorry for the inconvenience!

I figured it was mainly for vibrations, so I used some thin weather strip that I had in the garage. The only other consistent thing that I have seen was on mine and a couple of others the passenger side support brace that attaches to the base of the sport bar was bent in a little, but other than that the packing was super.
Overall, super job on designing the Tuffy Security Deck.

I already called Tuffy about an hour ago and they are sending me the weather strip, but it is cool that you guys posted up here too!

Mine was bent on both sides, the rollbar flange and the sub flange, but no worries.

The install was 1.25 hours and that included a couple of minutes to clear the tow straps & other junk out of my previous lockbox and toss them under the new deck. Not bad at all!

Thanks for the positive comments! Sorry for the missing rubber seal. It sounds like you got it worked out. Packaging these things is a bear knowing that UPS/FedEx loves to throw heavy packages with complete disregard to the internal contents. Sounds like we may have to add a little more protection for the support tabs.

Just for the heck of it, a couple of snaps for those who want to see it in a 2-door.

And to show how much room is left behind the seats
