What would you like in a snorkel design?

Not shown in the image is a drain system located at the lowest point of the main body. A simple tube with a ball type drain valve will be located just behind the fender liner. You will be able to lower the tube and drain any water that might be pushed into the housing. With the ball valve closed the system will be sealed. As for the air box the next lowest point is located under the air box that is easily reached if needed.

Hope that answers you question.

It looks like the pic shows an aluminum mandrel heads over to the airbox from the black plastic downspout. It also looks like its held together with hose clamps. If it is, would that be water tight? My experience with hose clamps tells me no. I've been in water deep enough to reach my fenders so that part of your system would be submerged. I would be concerned about that.

Otherwise it does look very nice, very clean look on the outside and would work with a light bar.

Instructions will include proper sealing method.. You have a valid point and it has been reviewed... Thermal expansion has also been accounted for in regards to sudden cooling when submerge.

I also want to stress that submerging your rig that deep and for any extended point of time is not just a warranty out for Jeep... you really want to avoid it if all possible... Keeping water out of the intake system is the easy part... Its all the other drive line items you need to worry about. Diffs and wheel bearings are the first to come to mind.... Water and Mud are very bad "Ju-Ju" ..

I think it's a very clever design. I like the ability to easily change the snorkel to different configurations.

I'll be waiting to hear some real world reports...

Good job RR!

Have you guys toyed with the idea of a windshield light mount bracket in conjunction with the snorkel? I recall someone photoshopping one on there awhile ago.

Any plans as an option for a driverside cowel body armor? http://www.quadratec.com/products/12525_2101.htm. No need for the passenger and it would add symmetry to the kit. Thoughts?

Though may not be sold as an option, may be a good investment to get some fiberglass heatwrap stuff used on turbo piping etc to keep the heatsoak off of the metal section.
