Prettty much picked and chose among what had been brought up:

Durability
Ram or cyclone style pre-filter, buyers choice
indention so you don't have to bend the antenna
A place to connect extended breathers
Rugged looks
Compatibility with dual battery setups
A complete system with new fully sealed air-box
Would prefer to cut the hood rather than a body panel
If I choose ram air, rock solid air / rain separation
Compatibility with window mount light brackets
Top of the windshield height, I like freeboard.
Price point less than AEV's

Not important to me:
Compatibility with mirror relocation kits
Hummer looks

Just my two centavos

 

I agree with all this KTB, just to clarify... when i said i prefer to cut body than hood, what i meant was i prefer the to cut the hood cowl rather than the hood... hood seems flimsy enough without reducing its stability it already lacks, the hood cowl seems replaceable or plugged without anyone caring (IF you chose to sell down the road)...

Do you plan on making the snorkel paintable?
Will we get any pics before SEMA?
Can you give us any idea where you are planning to mount the snorkel?
I also really like the hummer style snorkel.

 

Good question regarding the paint-ability.....

Smooth does not always look good for large plastic parts when not painted. Tooling lines and other manufacturing lines are hard to hide and raise the cost in tooling and manufacturing when compared to a textured finish.

Will look into this if it sounds like it is important to a lot of people. This is where an aluminum or metal outer snorkel has its advantages.

I think the location has been discussed by others. In the coming weeks I might be able to give some sneak looks into the design but I think the owner would like to keep it under wraps for now...

We have quite a few "new" items to show this year at SEMA..

How about affordable 1/2 doors???

 

I think this is an excellent example. A simple and elegant solution (provided that it produces the need airflow) that would look great on a JK. Not overbearing--just functional and just right.

 

x2 I really like the looks, and it doesn't look like a slug like some of the other snorkels out there. It would be great to be able to remove the snorkel and return to stock if needed (minimal cuttng for the install like Rugged Ridge is trying to do).

Anyone else think it would look better painted white to match the jeep?
