I was wanting a snorkle, but didn't want to cut the hood. If Rugged Ridge made something like this though, I would be all over it.

From the sounds of things, if you get this one right you won't be able to produce them fast enough to keep up to the orders. I know for me I haven't found a snorkel solution that I'm 100% sold on as of yet.. which is why I don't already have a snorkel installed. I am eagerly awaiting the release of the design. Looks like you're heading in the right direction anyway.

Something that comes out thru the cowl would be awesome!

How about something that also includes a kit to run all you diff and gear box breathers through to the snorkel...

now everything will be high and dry...

I will be working on the design look next week. I have wanted to go in this direction for some time. All the input I get from you guys helps to validate both the idea and possible tooling cost.

Thanks for all your help and keep it up. I wish I could show you guys more but got to keep it under wraps for now.

As for the Mushroom look... The part will be styled to match the overall look of the JK better but offer a similar function. It will also be designed to allow a taller stack (A-pillar) if desired.

This is going to sound funny, but you have to be careful with routing your vent lines (tranny - T-case) into your air intake. There is a LOT of fluid in those cases that can make it into the air box if not controlled correctly... Ask me how I know

The point is that if a vehicle is laid over or rolled. The fluids can and will flow out. I'm not sure I want to risk having them dump into the intake....

Yes I know that you got bigger issues if you have gone this far and the numbers will be really low but I can still see a problem or complaint from someone.

What I might look into would be line extenders that run outside of the intake. This would allow you to vent off higher without going directly into the air stream....

If you could design it to work with the RIPP supercharger as well that would be cool ( for me anyway)

So it sounds like it's going to come out of the cowl? I was looking at a HUMVEE here on base last week and it uses a VERY similar setup for it's intake.

I like that Idea a lot. Even without thethe extention you could visually see before the water level put you in danger and you don't have to have a big thing sticking off the side of your jeep all the time. Though they do look kind of cool.
