Looks like we will be able to put some SolidWorks time back onto the project this week... Will keep you posted.

Keep the input coming.

Default snow - refreeze

RR - you are exactly right, the wiper desgn wasnt thought out too well... snow does refreeze on window and the "icepack" on windshield edge gets larger and larger as you drive.

I always wondered about that issue and the design Jeep came up with for the wipers. Looks like a spot that would catch a lot of snow, melt and then freeze....

Got a suggestion regarding the snow? Lets hear it..

can't wait. Does that mean we get updated pics soon or is it still a secret until SEMA?

Also, make sure to keep in mind the guys who live in snowy places like you already said. The only way I can think to keep snow and ice from entering the intake is for it to have a Humvee-style intake

Well, Just found out that we have another floor liner ahead of the snorkel (SolidWorks time)... Trying but it looks like the sneak pictures will have to be after SEMA. Don't think I will make it with the load we have pending.

hello rugged ridge, if your still looking for some advise i figured id add my two sence.
i seen this on quadratec and was wondering if you could make a snorkel setup something like this and have it for a jk.
Spectre Performance Cold Air Induction Filter System for 97-06 Jeep® Wrangler TJ & Unlimited with 4.0L Engine
i think this would be an awesome set up for many reasons like adding more room under the hood for a better fitting battery. I am really looking forward to seen what you guys come up with i am currnetly looking for my next mod after i get my winch on and my dual battery set up.

, i know its just a cold air intake, but i think it would be a really cool idea for rugged ridge to add some more to it and make it a snorkel and make more room under the hood by getting rid of that air box. i just dont know what they would do after they get it outside the cowl and how high to make it but i guess thats why there the ones makeing it and im just adding a part of the picture.

yea i hate that air box, im looking to add a secound battery with in a month or so and also wanted to add an extra small fuse box for all of my off road lights and stuff and that would be a perfect place for it I think. all i know is i cant wait to get one i just need to find that money tree out there.

Original idea has always had this as part of the design. How it is run into the engine compartment is the hard part when combined with the need to clear dual battery trays.

Another factor will be the new motor coming out next year in the 2012 model..... This might delay the project. DO NOT want to spend a boat load of money on tooling only to find out that with minor changes could also work with the new motor layout.
